btw, the running order was the same as the appearance in the show.
I set it before I received the votes.
I'm very sorry for RainyWoods and Stargazer that the second half
of the show was so disappointing for you :(

I think this has to be my worst showing ever in a spin-off, but thanks to everyone who supported me. There was just way too many good songs

Thanks Amir for a great show

Sooo, this was my third hosting, but the first time I did also the results show.
It was more exhausting than I thought. I'm actually happy it's over haha.
Therefore a 2nd place is the best thing that could happen to me,
because I'm afraid I would have declined another hosting.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted for Faith Hill - There You'll Be.
This is one of my long all time favourite songs, and I'm so happy
that it achieved such a success in such a superstrong spin-off!!

Thank you very much!!! xhug

Thank you so much for all the votes to West Midlands! xheart It's a song that gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it, and not many songs can do it.

Also thank you Amir for your excellent hosting! xlove

Big congratulations to Jordan!xheartxyes I'm very happy for you. Seems like June is your lucky month. Congratulations as well to Greece and the United states on your medals.

Seeing Western USA so low down makes me sad, as The Beach Boys are just wonderful, and I was quietly rooting on California in my head to take the crown, as that piece gave me some mega goosebumps. I did almost give it 12 but i'm too much of a surfy old fart in a tie dye shirt at heart not to give Beach Boys a 12. Worked out ok though as a 10 exchange happenedxheat

Thank you to everyone that voted for my Czech Republic piece. Valerie and Her Week of Wonders is my all time favourite film, and i'd waited a long time for this opportunity to share this piece with you. 11th is not a bad result at all, but it was kind of amusing how I made my total almost entirely off of 12s and 10s, and a single 5. I didn't expect it to be THAT polarizing (I imagined picking up scrap points actually) but at the same time I couldn't have seen coming such strong support from some of you. That was wonderfulxrose

Bless the five of youxlove:lol: Looking at the scoreboard and no one had as few voters as I did.

I'm really weird with movies. I hardly watch any outside of David Lynch's works, but from time to time I have a strange urge to dig, and from digging a few years ago I discovered a period in Czech Republic's cinema called the Czechoslovak New Wave. The movies with this term attached to them were made I believe during a communist regime. The movies were dark, absurd and often with a very twisted sense of humour. Valerie and Her Week of Wonders is like the golden egg of this period, and I think it's one of the most beautiful movies ever filmed. Without spoiling the movie, it's essentially a coming of age story set in a breathtakingly beautiful fairy tale world. It's as shocking, dark and twisted as it is gorgeous. It's dripping in a certain something I haven't seen before or since. Particular images from the movie are incredibly vivid and will always stick with me. Go watch it...... my five fansxheartxbow:cool: You won't regret it. The music is also so ridiculously gorgeous as well.

Congrats to Jordan and Canada!! xcheer
And toda for all the votes to an epic Dreamworks piece featuring the late Ofra Haza with epic Hans Zimmer ambience! xlove

My quote for those who seem to lose hope in the game: (also from The Prince of Egypt, popularized by Mariah and Whitney)
"There can be miracles when you believe, though hope is frail it's hard to kill..."

But I have to say I'll be taking a short break from the spin-offs (it seems to me that I am gradually losing interest in them for some reason) unless some interesting theme coaxes me into returning...

Congrats :ca:! :D Wonderful song from the best movie trilogy in history! xlove

Thank you Amir for the great hosting. xbow

Thank you SO much to those who enjoyed and voted for my haunting little :cali: score gem. :D xhug xlove xbow xrose xheat It really means a lot that some of you loved it so much. It was one of those scores I stumbled upon while watching a seemingly random and unknown movie some 15 years ago (that I only happened to rent because all the movies I had wanted to rent were gone), and instantly fell in love with. For the longest time I couldn't find it anywhere and had to resort to buying a rental copy of the DVD (the movie was so unknown it wasn't even released properly on DVD) just so that I could rip the end credits and listen to the score. Thankfully the soundtrack was finally released some years later, but it's remained obscure and mostly unheard of to the vast majority. This is why I also wanted to share this with you all, since it deserves to be heard by more people.

Yes, yes, I can attest to all these things. xlove xbow I finally watched it last year and it was one of the most memorable movie experiences I've ever had. It was just as bizarre and disturbing as it was beautiful and ethereal. The score only enhances the fairytale quality of it all. xheart
