Re: WV ROME 13 | GRAND FINAL | DEADLINE: 30th May, 21:59 CET

For me it's just a healthy thing to avoid politics as much as possible on the forum (except in the dedicated threads). It's a good tradition that has a good reason for its existence.

So... just showing a picture of a politician is something wrong? :? It's not like we're gonna discuss politics and whatnot...

Anyway, I am highly disappointed with this and good luck to all future hosts searching for spokespeople from the countries I'm in because I won't be sending you anything, unless this ridiculous rule changes.

Yay spokespersons! But I think the jurors should be allowed to choose anyone, as long as he or she is from their region...

Well, we can discuss about who is allowed to be spokeperson in another thread... but for now let's do it how daniels wants, after all he's the host.
I also think that any personality can be spokeperson, including sport celebrities for example.

Anyway, great that you are gonna make it daniels.

What the hell is wrong with using politicians as spokespersons? This is ridiculous. It's not like you promote the political beliefs of the person by using one picture of him/her presenting the points. If someone wants to use a politician, why not allowing that? There shouldn't be a general rule about it. The host might ask for such and such person as a spokesperson. Let's say, a host might ask everyone to provide an athlete as a spokesperson. Then everyone should send an athlete. Or if the host doesn't want a politician or a singer as a spokesperson, then it's up to him. But general rule about it? Nah...

Agree, but as nothing was official, Daniels just post what It comes to his mind...let's do it for now like this as there are not so much time.
But a discussion thread or poll for this "rule" maybe should help... xshrug
Rules doesn't say anyting about politicians, in fact Vatican City was represeted by a politician: The Pope, so I alos don't see anything wrong about it...It's just for fun, It would be funny to see Putin as a spokeperson

Yeah, if Daniel doesn't want politicians, then it's up to him because he's the host. That's what I said, we shouldn't have a general rule about it at all, everything is up to the host who will use this application. ;)

My opinion is that it should be up to the participants and not the host as to who to send as a spokesperson. In ESC, the spokesperson can be anyone, it's not like EBU is demanding from local TV stations to send this or that person.

We don't follow the rules of EBU word by word here. The spokesperson thing is optional, it's up to the host. It should be up to the host who will ask as spokespersons. He can ask us to send anyone we want, or he can ask us to send only actors or only singers, or anyone except politicians etc.

Btw, a suggestion: PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY DEAD PERSON. Hey (you know who), I'm talking to you.

This is not ESC, this is Worldvision. Get over it, please. We all know what your opinion is and if you refuse to send a spokesperson for your country, well so be it, but stop forcing it. If the host doesn't want politicians as spokesperson, then you just need to agree. Stop being a crybaby or a dramaqueen, it's quite anoying. It's already hard enough to host such a contest like this and you even make it more chaotic.

I have sent my spokesperson :be:

Nobody said officially about that, but I saw some people implementing that "we must leave politics outside of WV" like we must have rule even for this thing...

What I mean is that I don't really mind to see a politician as spokeperson, but If they are banned I don't mind either...
Actually in ESC Ruslana was spokeperson and she has been in politics. And I don't think
she was a troll.
But yes, I rather prefer any artist or sport personality, even cartoons! than politicians or polemic figures.

When I suggested about spokeperson in WV I never thought that such a drama would be done ... let's get over of that small thing, really... Whoever wants to send a spokeperson do it, otherwise daniels said he will do it himself

Anyway, :pe: sent a spokeperson xfruits:
