TAMAUSIA & DELTANNOR's solution was...
This riddle solution all related to T&D's flag, depicting a boat. The reference to gravy hinted at a gravy boat, and the other part of the riddle was a reference to the phrase "we're in the same boat".
I adore that these riddles just continue to garner more and more meanings that weren't even conscious in any way hahaI thought this was going to link to me being stereotypically Northern English loving gravy
