Maraaya is different, a lil' weird (again the headphones :D) but i like weirdos ! Norway is charismatic, i still don't know if it's because they ARE charismatic or because the performance is strong that it feels they are. Belgium in that teenage strange way…like Lena or Lorde (of course) fresh but at the same time maybe too young to handle the crown. Estonia same as Norway and I think that Australia take the beast by its horns really well when it comes to the stage performance (but for him i think it's because it's his song, he litteraly is the song, everything seems easily when he performs it). I would say everybody is more or less at the same level.

Gosh i just realize we don't have a big persona this year. I like concept winners you know, bearded lady, dark witch, monsters from the north, Daria's best friend.

For me:

- Il Volo
- Mans
- Maraaya
- Electro Velvet
- Elnur
- Loïc
- Ann Sophie
- Guy Sebastian
- Monika/Vaidas

A lot of charismatic people. But my faves are definitely Il Volo & Mans.

Of course there's no Lordi/Conchita... but i prefer people who are charismatic for who they really are, without any "masks".

Exactly! We have no idea if Lordi individuals were charismatic, though the act was, a lot, whereas Mans' is al about his very own ironic smile which sets him apart from any other.

I don't think Guy is charismatic at all, he looks and acts just like anyone else you might meet in the street, and that might be his downfall. His singing is special, though by no means unique and I don't believe that will be enough to make him win.

Regarding Il Volo and still following the charisma line of thinking, I find the boy in the middle to be a true voting hoover. The one with the glasses, however, may prove to have the exactly opposite effect. He looks way too silly in the live performances.

Pros

-They've won once before, why not again?
-A simple song.
-Seems to be extremely popular with the fanbase.

Cons

-May not suit everybody.
-Has strong competition from other songs, namely Sweden, Italy and Slovenia.
-Live vocals might be a bit off.

These people are performers, their main goal is to entertain you, whatever they're using, it's a job. For me, that's not masks, it's their "artist tools". You can't take off a part of them because that's a full packaging. Lordi is a band dressed in monsters. If they're not dressed, they're no longer Lordi, that's who they really are (as performers). I don't think that the Mans you see performing is the Mans you'll meet in real life (he has to be kind, smiling in front of the camera, because it's his job to entertain you)
I get what you mean, you want "normal" people you could eventually meet in the street cause they look like everybody else, you don't like "added" or "artificial" thing. I just disagree cause for me all the ESC is artificial, everybody come with a concept (even the most natural one like Mans) i see the entertainment business in an other way, more creative and i do find these "normal people" boring cause they don't bring to me the "fantasy" i need to be entertained (that's why i don't like 2008 and 2011 winners) and that's also why i watch ESC : to discover artists who add a + to the music scene (+ is something else not or rarely seen before, + a good song of course :D)

Sure, you're right. But it's a different thing to be naturally charismatic and building an act that will be charismatic and that's what I was talking about. I didn't mean it at all in a negative way. The former may be innate while the last rquires work and ingenuity. Finland 2006 is one of my favourite entries of all time.

Who's the middle boy, Gianluca?

I like Piero (glasses boy), he is SO sweet.

+ The most fresh, modern composition of the year. An entry that screams 2015.
+ Incredibly powerful chorus, that hits like a tonne of bricks and sticks in the mind.
+ Remember "Suus"? Many declared that as a song bound to fail. "Love Injected" could be a synthpop version of it. It has that same raw power and emotion. It's nowhere near as poignant as "Suus" but Aminata's song actually does have mass appeal, despite also having the power to divide. Rona came 5th with a song that had zero chart potential.
+ Remember Loreen with her mysterious, artistic winning performance? Say hello to Aminata with her equally captivating stage presence.
+ One of only a couple of songs here able to pick up the alternative vote.
+ It sounds like a winner.

- Might be a bit too difficult for a few to swallow. Minimalistic verses into the giant chorus will shake some people.
- An incredibly harsh, screechy voice which works with the song, but is certainly an aquired taste.

No idea of their names, sorry. There's the handsome one on the left, the smiling one in the center and the one with the glasses :p

No offense, but could it be that you two represent the typical Italy supporter? So concentrated on the outer appearance and the music is not so important?
Or am I completely wrong? Then of course I apologize immediately.
(I still haven't been able to understand why Italy is so successfull this year with such a mediocre, old-fashioned song.)

We were getting carried away by the subject of singers' charisma or lack of it at the moment, lol, not really focussing on the songs. You know that it matters though, I hope. Marie Jane is a known supporter of Italy's song, I am not, far from it god forbid :D
