I wasn't born yesterday - send a song from an artist over 70 years old (entry must be recorded after they turned 70 yo, but it might be a cover of a song produced when they were younger)
Random Edition Spin-off - Send a song released during the period of a particular WV edition (selected randomly).

How does EURO 2024 win this? Like I mean that's literally the most boring spinoff idea possible. We laugh about the 'send a song with a colour in the name' sort of nonsense, but at least that gives some limitations leading to a potentially interesting spinoff. Now the limitation is just to play a boring ass European country like 90% of WV does anyway. Song doesn't even have to be about football in any way.

Also can we please please please just do the Top of the Pops one, I mean it's been on the board for like 4 years. Sure, it's not the best idea but nowhere near the worst, let's just get it done.

To be honest, a Top of The Pops theme would actually be quite fun and extremely easy. If you think of a global smash hit from back in the day, the likelihood is that it would have appeared on Top of The Pops, usually gloriously mimed. It would be nice for Fabi to finally get this theme, I agree.

couldn't agree more. I think spin-offs should always be about finding a certain type of songs, not countries or regions...
anyway I remember the last spin-off with the Eurocup or Worldcup theme (don't remember) had at least a special voting system, which I also don't remember. I only remember @Looren hosted and I won :')

I'm sure that people voted for "Euro 2024" with the view that they would choose a country that they normally can't in the main contest. I think that they have already made plans for their first choice country and contingency plans if their first choice country is one of the more popular ones. I trust that at least one participant will choose one of the less popular countries that we don't see much, if at all, in the main contest to make the spinoff more interesting.
