Jumping off of Fluke in the 1956-2010 forum, what do y'all think are going to be the big applause moments in the performances this year? Things like Carl Espen's violinists coming onstage, the final chorus of "Euphoria" starting, Conchita's entire performance, Rona finishing her first "QAJJJJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJJJJJJJJJ," et alia.

The obvious one for me is that high note that Elhaida hits near the end, but I'd love to hear some of y'all's predictions.

The OGAE folk I've seen discuss the song are really not into "Love Injected," or there are a few moments there that would make my list.

You see, I don't know if the host reception is going to be as noticeable this year since Vienna is so close to so many other countries whose residents may not have the same emotional (read: loud) patriotic connections to the Austrian song.

Off course for the host nation, Austria.
Also Sweden and Norway will get a lot of support I suppose.

That would be sad and pathetic...

Indeed so, but the audience has proven on more than one occasion that booing is not beneath them.

Now that I think about it, there would be something kind of awesome about Eurovision's first punk-for-adults band inciting that much emotion, even (or especially) an emotion which punk is all-too-acquainted with receiving from the powers that be. It'd be absolutely sad and pathetic on the part of the audience members, but think about how great a conclusion to their Eurovision story it would be: "We went to Eurovision. We got booed. We kicked ass anyway."

I may not like the Finnish song, but huge amounts of respect for the guys for getting there, but having said that, I hope that whatever reaction they get is based purely on the song and not who they are or what they have gone through. I do worry that some will vote for them purely because of their backgrounds and others will boo and hiss because of the same.

I can see the audience cheering during the last chorus of :is: when Maria sings the long note.
