I have both consoles. My PS3 is forever collecting dust as I never use it.. thats mainly because all my friends are on Xbox 360 plus the online experience is a lot better. You do have to pay a yearly subscription. It's very much worth it though i'd say. PSN is free but not great in comparison.
However the PS3 has a lot more exclusive games being released for it today. There aren't that many notable exclusives being released on the 360 anymore besides the shooters.. Gears of War, Halo etc. Most games are multi platform nowadays anyway so it's not so bad. There are plenty of older games exclusive to the 360 which are worth a look.
PS3 plays blu ray, that might be important to you?
I just find PS3 such a hassle. Every month there seems to be massive compulsory updates which take an age to download. The games themselves often require large, time consuming updates. My brother bought Need for Speed the other day and before he could even play it he had to download a ridiculously large update which took more than an hour. Xbox updates are literally no longer than 30 seconds usually.
So basically i'd say Xbox is the smoother ride but PS3 has the bigger, more varied library of games. What type of games are you into? That should be probably the biggest decider as to which console you go for.
That was really helpful, thanks a lot
I also think that PS3 has much better exclusives. I only played Halo 1 from XBox exclusives and it was like.........OK, but I definetly wouldn't buy a console to play it. On the other hand, God Of War is an impressive game and that one is a completely different story
Personally, Blu-Ray is not something that is important for me, but it is a nice feature.
Based on this description, I think PS3, even though more expensive, is a better solution for me. I am mostly into action adventures, platformers and FPS. I do like games like PES, FIFA and NBA as well and even Need For Speed, but, for some reason, I tend to avoid RPG and RTS games, even though there are some really good titles that I play from those genres as well
Also, on which console do you have a better multimedia experience? Can both consoles use services like YouTube for example? And which formats do they play (mp3, avi, etc....)?
Also, last question......can you play pirated games on them (
)? In
we head for pirated games like........almost all the time
Since the standard is not good and the originals are expensive, so we usually download games from torrents or some other websites. I heard there are chips that are added into a console but that question is also quite tricky, as these newer consoles, as far as I understood, can't run the newer games with this chip added (I mean on the pirated versions), and also I heard that on XBox 360, if you go to the LIVE service after playing a single pirated game, they ban your console. Is it true?
