It's the default screen but you can change it in the settings if you like back to the original.

If you have chosen an alternative skin before, you need to change it to Christmas on the bottom xsanta

Even though I realize that it is possible to change the theme in the settings, I feel like the current default forum theme would be way better if instead of Merry Christmas it would say something like Happy Holidays. (I personally dislike the fact that the theme is specifically directed to a christian holiday when a sizable group of people in the forum are either atheists, muslims, jewish or something entirely else).

Christmas exists whether you celebrate it or not xshrug

I'm not a Christian or religious person myself, Christmas is more of a social and cultural holiday and the spiritual/religious aspect is mostly separate. But if people really feel uncomfortable with it, we'll always have the original skin available to those who prefer that.

And I don't mind changing the wording, it's no big deal.

So does the Suriname independence day, but we do not have a specific theme to celebrate it today. I find it deeply offensive that the forum for some reason sides with 1 religion over the others. (or for that fact for siding with religion at all)

I suggest changing the wording. I celebrate Christmas, but I think it seems a bit exclusive. I don't like it. It's not hard to write Happy Holidays instead. Making it just for Christmas makes it seems like there should be a banner for every holiday. It's a bit hypocritical.

And yes, I know you can change the skin, but that makes it seem even more exclusive, and that's never a good thing for a forum that supposedly chimes for acceptance of all different nationalities, religions, et cetera.

PLEASE PLEASE do not change the wording from Christmas to Holidays - if people are celebrating the "holidays" then they are celebrating the Christian festival of Christmas. If they are not celebrating it then they are free to change the background themselves.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell no.
do not tell me what I'm 'celebrating' in the holidays, we have a similar holidays period here of Hannukah yet you don't see me all fapping around to people that they are celebrating a Jewish holiday or smth.
but well, if you don't like the 'holidays', you could always change it to the alternative if it ever comes to it :)

o_O seriously?!

I, of course, agree with SpZ and sannerz. Why didn't Aid have its own theme? Why doesn't Hannukah? :?

Re: Updates/Requests/Improvements

I don't see what all the fuss about this is about, if you don't like the Christmas theme, then don't display it, use the regular forum theme instead. I'm not religious at all, but I was raised Christian and live in a Christian-majority society (as do most Europeans) and I have no issues with people celebration Christmas - after all, it's become so morphed and commercialised that is might as well be considered a secular holiday now.

I personally don't use the Christmas theme because the strong red-green contrast hurts my eyes.
