I don't really care about the pre-recorded vocals, but ideally each delegation should choose whether they want to use them or not.

Countries who have particularly large ESC followings (e.g. UK, France, Germany...) should have different hosting rules. Stadiums only. That way as many fans as possible can attend live and in person.

There is nothing wrong with winning a contest without winning either the jury or the televote. Also, people who keep complaining about it are probably shit at making and understanding compromises.

It‘s a bit like saying: „I don't really care about doping at the Olympics, but ideally each delegation should choose whether they want to use it or not.“

Btw: I didn‘t know that they were compulsory. Is that really the case?

I thought they were, but i did my research just now and apparently they are in fact optional, so my bad. :p
Did anyone actually use live backing vocals in the past two years?

And if it wasn't for health concers, i would actually be pro-doping.

I read quite the number of posts on various sites how internal selections saved this year.

And boy....I do not agree with that sentiment.

I agree... The Nf's results were not awful but not spectacular either...

Here it comes:

1. Both Finland and Israel got way too many points from the jury. 50 at max I would say would've been more fitting
2. Spain should've landslided the jury vote in the way Sweden did now
3. Eurovision 2023 was a childish cringefest

The biggest robbery ever in Eurovision is Miodio coming last in 2008 with a song worthy of a top 10 spot in that awful year of Eurovision.

The best song the UK gave us in the '90s was not "Love shine a light", was not "Where are you", was not even "Better the devil you know", but it was actually "Lonely Symphony (we will be free)", their 1994 entry. I really love that song...

unpopular eurovision opinion: fandom forces the sympathy on some songs just bc these are eurovision songs (while they are bad and would never listen to them outside the competition)

I have one wild one: 2021 is a weak year.
Everyone is praising at 2021 as the "best year ever" but, in fact, it isn't. Yes, we've had more standout acts than the other years, but we've had lots of weak entries.
1) There were too many girl pop bangers: :mt::gr::cy::az::hr::rs::il::sm::md::lv:... too many similar entries, and in fact, they were damaged by the division of their public.
2) Lots of countries had a chance to replace their weak entry of 2020, but they decided to keep on with the same artist and an even worse song; in fact, no one can remember the songs of the NQs because they were too weak (except for the "shock ones" :hr::ro: with the former being eliminated for reasons explained in point 1) and we've had 4 (FOUR) pre-qualified acts which got a big fat 0 (with 3 of them being returnees from 2020).

Everyone is looking at the quality entries of that year (we've had lots of possible winners, such as :it::fr::ch::is::ua::fi::mt::lt:), and the high number of the girl pop bangers created the myth of "ESC 2021 the best year ever)... I think 2022 and EVEN 2023 are better.

Yet, it still has the best top 10 of the decade... But I get your point...
