Hell yeah! I was shocked, when I heard UK had a chalga song and it's quite nice! I would have voted for it, if BG took part back then and if I was watching :)

I thought Javine was 2003. Well, my point is I wasn't watching back then ;)

In theory it wouldn't be too difficult to come up with a song along ethno lines again, there's a huge Indian community & a lot of Indian influence in the UK, something like "Jai Ho" would be pretty cool I think! But I'm not sure if people would feel the need to go that way after 2005 failed (and yeah I know there are plenty of reasons why but Brits tend to view the results quite simplistically!)

Well, there's more. Ethno is not something you'd expect from UK. People have grown accustomed to France sending a ballad, Serbia sending an ethno ballad, Turkey and Greece sending ethno dance and so on. And strangely for me - they reward those countries which constantly send the same song. Well, it's actually explainable, but still strange :) So if UK goes with a song, which is typical for another country, that won't be looked well upon.

The UK will use "Your Country Needs You" again to select our song. The casting company used last year put a message out on twitter about it..

I wouldn't like ALW again - I'd prefer a famous person to actually sing rather than compose.

but if they are casting, that means they are wanting singers :/ so we'll have an unknown singer again.

I doubt it. I don't think the BBC will be using the online method to take part this year again, but instead leaving it to the casting company. After all, 4/6 of the entries in YCNY 2009 were from them. :p This could give us a good chance of having a high profile selection of artists..

There's no way on earth a "high profile" artist would enter a talent show like this, I'm afraid. The best you can hope for is someone who had a minor hit in the past.
