Angelina has the most westernized sounding song of the bunch but I think it's decent. Especially coming from such a young singer. Might have been better 15 seconds shorter. The ending feels padded.

I feel like Jerry Heil and Krutь are the only ones standing out. I also enjoyed Demchuk, Oy Sound System and Tvorchi. None of them sound like top 5 in the finals material but for a host entry (kinda?) I'd like to have sth like Jerry Heil's.

Well, I must say, that I'm kind of disappointed with the songs in Vidbir this year. Although, it's kind of a given, since Eurovision is probably one of the last things Ukraine needs to focus now at the moment. However, I am still staying true to my music taste, so here's my personal ranking.

4. Tvorchi - Heart of Steel
5. Fiinka - Довбуш
6. Krutь - Колискова
7. Oy Sound System - Ой, тужу

To be fair, I don't really like any of the entries in this NF, except 2Tone and Moisei. I have seen many people here and on other sites saying that their favorite is either Jerry Heil or Krutь. Honestly, I don't see the appeal of Krutь's entry, I just find it boring. As for Jerry Heil, her song is nice and pretty typical from Ukraine, but I guess after all these years I just grew tired of folk. Would definitely like to see more modern entries.

Your #2-#4 is my Top 3 but it´s just hilarious that you chose THE SONG I disliked the most (by a huge margin) and crown it your favourite song.

Vidbir 2017 with dull rock song, generic teen idol and Tayanna’s unlistenable screamfest all finishing in top 3 would like to argue.
IMHO as long as juries do their job and kill Demchuk and Angelina we will have a good original entry.

2017 wasn´t a good year, either - I agree with you - I liked "Time" and loved Tayanna´s song a lot, though (and I still believe that they are well-produced).

Makes sense, having listened through again Demchuk sounds western sounding too but I definitely prefer Angelina.

My favourite is definitely Fiinka, then Jerry Heil and in the third place Krutь (I prefer her previous entry "99"). Overall, not bad, especially given the circumstances, even though the expectations are obviously high as Ukraine is such a Eurovision powerhouse...

Finally we can talk about songs again. So after the first listening this were my thoughts (before even reading any comment on fansites).
Favorites to win: Jerry Heil, Fiinka, Krut probably also OY Sound system
My favorites: Angelina and Demchuk, maybe also Moisei

Ok, finally listened to all the songs. Tbh I've never been a fan of Vidbir, I recognise the quality that comes in and understand why so many are huge fans, but more often than not the songs are far from my taste, and this line up is really quite no different. Most go from just ok to actively disliking quite a lot. Here is my list:

Jerry Heil is by far the best imo, although I do have some reservations about it. I quite like Demchuk also, he has a very nice voice especially even if the song is a little basic. Fiinka would be cool but it is desperate for a revamp (all kinda need one tbh). The rest go from having no impact to disliking a lot. The past couple of years Ukraine has been quite near the bottom of my rank, so hopefully this year it can come higher, and Jerry would probably do that.
