oh the irony, Israel is not in Europe too. But NOOO, Tunisia is not Europe, don't participate. why some countries can, and some - not participate?

Maybe because Israel has a history with this contest that goes back to the 1970's and has been a consistent participant since then?

Maybe because Israel's ties with Europe are more obvious and the country already takes part officially as part of Europe in different international events?

If you can't see the difference, well that's up to you then.

I must say it's kinda unexpected to see Tunisia back in a contest like Miss World, especially since its switch towards more islam after the Islamic Revolutions...

Maybe it has to do with the fact that Indonesia (a muslim country) is hosting it and as a consequence of that they scrapped the whole swimsuit competition this year?

Nevertheless I welcome them back in contests like these, it's a symbolic step in a good direction imo... still though I still oppose any further non- geographical European expansion of ESC

This has nothing to do with Tunisia, this is a song contest not some I'm miss beautiful **** or what ever it is and what does those Terrorists Algerians get to do with this?

And No Tunisia will never take part and they are busy sorting there problems out such a destroying womans rights and assassinating party leaders then broadcasting and joining Eurovision.

Then kick out Israel, Armenia, Cyprus and Azerbaijan and even Turkey. Fortress Europe, even for Eurovision. Fact is, Eurovision is a brand name for a TV show, period. The only measure of its adequacy is its success with audiences. If audiences drop massively because Lebanon or Morocco participate, then it will mean Eurovision may not be the right name for the show. Every single year I hear people wondering why the hell Israel's participating, but it doesn't matter.

I agree. Honestly, I don't really get why people complain about Israel, Azerbaijan etc. participating. These countries are a great enrichment for ESC. For me, the music is more important than the fact if Country XYZ belongs to Europe or not
And I mean, the show is just called Eurovision, not European Countries' Song Contest...
I would love to see Tunisia or other African countries taking part
