malaria? OMG, it is a city and a big one, not a jungle (we don't have jungles in Azerbaijan), I have NEVER heard about anyone who was sick with it. As I know people aren't required to have injected before coming here.

There are ferrye-es from to Batumi (Georgia). Is there any way to get from Batumi to Baku? Trains, buses?

I know that Bosnian and Serbian citizens don't need visas for Turkey, but don't know what situation is with Azerbaijan.
The cheapest option for me (or others from ex yu) is probably travel to Istanbul or Ankara (cuz we have direct flight, rails and bus lines) and than via Baku from Turkey.

That's a very good question. Hopefully tomorrow some of the members here who know more about this can help you out, because I really have no idea :s

Trains and buses. I have no idea about prices but I know that the train ticket would cost approx. 40$.
