I don't have any underrated songs atm that are noteworthy, but I have two BIG fanwanks.

:az: and :it:.

I get why people like Italy's song, it used to be my number 1, (it's my number 22 or something now) but I really have my doubts about it winning.

Azerbaijan, on the other hand, ????!??!
This is by far the weakest song Azerbaijan's ever sent??? Why does everyone love it????

here comes the hate

Is it okay to say that :se: is overrated?

A good song, contemporary and all, but for it to be considered a winner?

I really don't get all the hype over the song at all. I mean, what is making it the favorite of the bookies other than the fact it's a generic Swedish pop song with the added bonus of a cartoon light show?

I laugh a bit when I read that Italy is overrated... I read my country so many times in that list that I ask myself "Is Italy overrated?"

Well I guess considering the fact that its #2 in the odds and top 10 in all the fan polls (probably more due to their fan base then ESC fans ;)) I guess it could be put in the overrated category if you don't like it xshrug

In terms of the fandom I think its evenly spit between the like, neutral, dislike groups. The fans don't hype it anywhere as much as they do :se:, :sl:, :ee: or even . Its more like in the second group of popular but not fanatic about it.

It was a joke so no problem, I know what can be considered overrated ;) I didn't read this thread other years but I think I'd read many times Sweden in 2012, Armenia in 2014 and so on...

Italy deserves all the praise it can get.
It's the diamond in the rough in this year's ESC!!!

In a way, most favourites tend to be overrated as they are the ones who are talked about the most.

In bocca al lupo cari vicini di casa ;)

Italy is in my opinion little too overrated. It's good, but I don't have it as high in my top.

Underrated: Moldova

Didn't like it at first either, but thinking about it and giving it a chance, I have to admit it is very catchy. It is a modern dancesong that appeals to a large audience whether Western oder Eastern Europe and it depends on his performance whether he deserves to be in the final. We had other successful pop songs, like Popular by Eric Saade, which, imho, isn't anything but the same and I liked that, too. Also, the phrase "what I want, want, want" is quite catchy. So if people think, Lithuania should get a chance because of their "loooove, looove" and that stupid "round and round" sounding like a song for children - then Moldova surely is worth it either!

Overrated:

Italy - Most definitely an excellent song, but this is not going to win big. It might come third. People don't generally like these kinds of songs.
Slovenia - The song is okay I guess, of a tad boring. With proper staging there may be something here, but the singer seems to not care about the audience.
Estonia - It's a depressing song and these kinds of things are hard to really 'get'. This song didn't catch my attention the first time so I doubt it will harvest enough votes.

Underrated:

Moldova - Never ever discount a song that is just good fun with some catchy hooks thrown in for good measure.
France - It won't do well, but she is the best vocalist at Eurovision by a distance and juries will probably reward that.
Finland - They are authentic and bring something new to the table. People will vote for that. Also, the song isn't bad when you apply punk aesthetics.
