The Norwegian Hosts - Norway Gets It!

There was pretty much no random (inane) banter between the hosts, no forced bad jokes, no made up romantic tension. It was just straight on information and everything was fast-paced. "Here's the next country!", "And now for an intermission!", "Green room interviews!".

Dareisay that this was the most effective hosting during the 21st century (since I only started watching Eurovision in 2000)?

To be honest, it's exactly what I didin't like about them. The show shouldn't be just about presenting entries. We all already knew them and if I wanted effectiveness, I would watch all songs on youtube. Without interesting show ESC would be just display of random mjusic from all over continent.

Everyone on this forum, yes, but you got to remember that not all ESC viewers are hardcore fans, and I'm sure most of the people watching yesterday had never heard any of the songs before (except their own entry). Besides, I expect more of a show on Saturday, the semi finals are just "warm up" anyway.

It's the semi-finals. I'm sure they're saving the good stuff for the final.

Yes, the 100 million viewers of Eurovision have all watched and listened to the songs beforehand and watch the ESC for the inane batter between the hosts. Just because you already knew the entries doesn't mean everyone else does. The show isn't there to entertain you specifically, it's there to entertain 100 million viewers across the world.

Without interesting show ESC would be just display of random mjusic from all over continent.

But that's what it is.
