Apparently Douwe is going bring the Eurovision to complete silent for 10 seconds or something.

Hans (Pannecoucke) is the same person who directed our 2014 (and weird enough also 2015) staging.

I'm surprised to see this little talk about the Dutch rehearsal, because from what I can see, it was strong. A band on stage in ESC rarely works due to the nature of the contest, but this particular song makes it look like the band belongs on stage. The clothes are spot on (which wasn't the case for several performers) and the background is interesting enough to avoid looking bland while not distracting from the song. Good package here.

He is a massive climber in my ranking. I thought this was boring, but since he creates such an intimate atmosphere on stage (reminding me of The Common Linnets that I adoooore(d)) he gets all my applause. I mean, it's always nice to see such a stripped-down performance, especially before Russia is giving a huge bang then.

I have already predicted that the NL will be in the final. This seems like a strong rehearsal. I am quite confident that the NL will be back in the final again!
I like the backdrop. And I like his laid back style!

Often the Dutch media talks bad about Eurovision, it's annoying.

And deservedly so. So much the better to see that the Netherlands are back on track. High quality song, not as high as Birds but probably the highest musical quality in the current field. Too bad Douwe Bob will not get the recognition he deserves, but if the voters dare to keep him out of the top ten I'll call it a crime.

Yes definitely, it was a disaster. Such a shame after two succesfull entries, but agree with you, are definitely back on track.

This MUST qualify. As things stand, this will get my vote in the semifinal. I love it for what it is - simple and effective.
