A good question, but I guess some in here will reply "Benjamin didn´t sound too good last year and he was 2nd in the Jury vote" but that was a falsette song and a very professional performance.

It will be interesting to see how it will sound in Tel Aviv. Next stop for him is the London party?

I mean Eleni came fifth/sixth in the jury vote last year and I think Luca can do about the same if his staging's and performance is on pair with Eleni's

It's weird, because he seemed to have struggled in the verses only which are quite low. Once the chorus kicked in, he was fine. You guys are overreacting big time. Besides, he was clearly more into having fun on the stage than delivering perfect notes. So, yeah. Calm down. It's not that serious.

No she sounded fine but there were definitely some use of backing vocals in that performance
I still think Luca can win if he really gets the staging right - and I'm confident he will because I can't see Sacha fuck up anything this year as she probably wants to maintain her status within the ESC-community

Me too. I think his vocals were fine. But those dance moves were kind of weird to me.

He sounds good enough in the performance to me. Admittedly it's not my favourite song this year, but I think Luca can probably pull off a rare qualification for Switzerland and make his fans happy. Semi 2 will be a bloodbath but I'm pretty confident he'll be able to survive it.

For Switzerland to make the final, with such an abysmal record would be victory enough. It almost feels like a Czech Republic 2018 moment where they go from being off the radar for so many years, to being in the centre. I'm happy we vote in semi 2 so I can vote for it.

Brilliant performance! I was really really hoping that this wouldn't be a great record and fall flat live, and definitely hasn't!

Also I love his dancing What's the point in run-of-the-mill dancing we see every performance every year? It's Eurovision! Time for crazy dancing

As it seems like people are happy to see him fail. I don't think he was that bad. You have to take into consideration that he puts in alot of energy into the dance routine. I think he sounded fine most of the times with the exception of the parts he did after he danced. With backing vocalists, I am sure that will help him manage between the dance routine and vocals. I am pretty confident he will do fine in Tel Aviv. And by doing all these concerts will be beneficial to him, get used to the crowds and also give him additional practice times.

I am not irritated by the vocals, cause I know him from his German Idol time. And I think he did slightly improve since that.
It is clear to me, that songs like «She Got Me» need a lot of backing vocals when the singer is just mediocre. Also the staging will distract from that fact.

That said it was clever Eleni didn't do any pre-parties. Maybe that is also why Malta cancelled all shows?
