This is a really nice and catchy song although I think it's slightly overrated. 8 points for now.

The guy gives me gay vibes, anyone knows anything about that? Not that it matters if he is or isn't, but if that's the case, then why are we still in 2019 having gays singing love songs to females? It's a very 90's boyband thing to do... and frankly disturbing in this day and age... oh well...

Hun, that's not how gays move their hips.

THE GOOD:
-The instrumentals are pretty good.
-His vocals fit well with the instrumentals.

THE BAD:
-Overall, the sound is a bit dated and not necessarily on trend.
-A minor thing, but his accent pops out in parts of the song.

THE VERDICT:
Overall, I like the song. I would've liked it more if it this was a contest held in the 2000s. Also, the song sounds a bit like a paint-by-numbers deal. As it stands, with a good performance, it'll be in the Final. After that, who knows? 8 points

The Fuego comparisons are lazy. It's more like Despacito or Enrique Iglesias if I had to be ignorant about the influences behind this track.

:ch:!!!!! i am still shook, the last country i expected to deliver a bop xbow

Also, of course people had to come with Fuego comparisons. BIG YAWN. This is obviously inspired by Latin American music in general, even the music video looks a bit Maluma-ish. I for one welcome LA influences in my Eurovision xheat xheat

Disturbing is that people constantly speak about the sexual orientation of others, although I get what you mean and I agree on that. However, (warning, unpopular opinion) I'm a bit tired that the word 'gay' is always on the mouth of everyone in Eurovision.

As for the song, I love it! I guess it will be in my top 5.

Lol, this dweeb will 100% Tooji himself. As if the label "Switzerland" weren't clear enough by itself. Bear in mind that if Luca is bad live, he's going, going, GONE . If he is decent live, he and Victor Crone will absolutely hold each other company in the bottom five of the Grand Final.

Like, stan this if you must, (I personally am excited for it, to some degree) but understand that this is a huuuuuge trainwreck in the making (xlove), as opposed to something that actually has a shot at a leftside finish, let alone top ten.

So, aside from Fuego & Eleni comparisons, we also recycle comments people posted about her last year? "Eleni can't sing she soooo bad live", "it will so flop", "pls when did Cyprus ever do good". This is a party song in a funeralish year. No chance it will get bottom 5. xfacepalm

I think Switzerland's finally back to the final!

This is nothing new but it's a bundle of fun and a reminder that no, I don't hate pop music despite railing against a lot of it in Eurovision this year, because I'm quite enjoying this. Bar a disastrous live performance this is sailing through to the final given the competition in SF2, and I'll be quite happy if it manages to do so - 8 points for now.

Luca isn't Eleni though? Where did I say that? Right after the reveal I compared the songs with each other, before I took the time to process the song or think about other comparisons. She Got Me tries to capitalize on Fuego's successes, much like Re►, but it is significantly trashier and cheaper. Re►, for all its polish and care, can be seen as a serious attempt at least.

As for your argument which implies that Eleni's vocals didn't matter, I actually agree with you! Now If you have 10 mins, bear with me on what I actually *think* about the supposed Fuegoness of it all.

These pretenders have forgotten why Cyprus finished second last year. It wasn't because of Fuego. Fuego is generic eurodance, it's lightweight convenience pop and nothing more. There has always been a market for that at Eurovision and thank fuck there is, otherwise we would see low-to-midtempo pretentious avant garde ballads with Deep, Socially Relevant Meanings all the time, which is just as detrimental to the contest as supposed "FastFood Music" is, if not more.

But I digress

No, it was Eleni who made Fuego shine. She kicked so much fucking ass that she was able to overcome spiteful Greek contempt and sashay her way to second place in spite of her so-called awful voice (she had some bum notes, what of it? Nobody listens to Fuego for the vocals). If you really want to capitalize on mediterranean uptempo dance or reggaeton, aspire to be like her, not her song. It is clear Cyprus got the message because they recruited Tamta, a proven performer. Switz... I'm not so certain about. Being a 'good performer' is so much more than having good vocals and looking pretty, you know.

Now, for the bloody record: I personally don't give a hoot about Re►; It's not my thing and I find that the professional care it's been given makes it less good, paradoxically enough. It's borderline robotic almost. I prefer organic, credible songs that expose the performer's quirks, personality and vulnerabilities, which is why I prefer Luca's economy alternative ever so slightly. There's a much higher chance I'll connect with him than I will with Tamta. But don't get your hopes up that he'll do well. He won't. Being Swiss and kind of a tool will ensure that he won't. but don't worry. If he flops, I won't be acting smug. I will be there to empathize with you. All I can ask you is that you do the same with me if I'm proven wrong. xlove

There is actually quite a few up tempo songs this year. Not that up-tempo makes a year better. 2015 had loads of ballads and was extremely high quality.
