Okay cool I'll do some quick and dirty rankings

1. KAJ - Bara bada bastu 7.5/10
2. Greczula - Believe Me - 6.5/10
3. Klara Hammarström - On and On and On and On and On and On 6/10
4. Scarlet - Sweet & Psycho 6/10
5. Saga Ludvigsson - Hate You So Much - 5/10
6. Meira Omar - Hush Hush 5/10
7. Maja Ivarsson - Kamikaze Life 4.5/10
T8. John Lundvik - Voice of the Silent - 4/10
T8. Måns Zelmerlöw - Revolution - 4/10
T8. Annika Wickihalder - Life Again 4/10 (I'm not entirely convinced my 4/10s are different songs)
11. Dolly Style - Yihaa 1.5/10 (although I can't get Boris' snark about how Måns would probably quit music if this beat him out of my head so now I want it to happen)
12. Erik Segerstedt - Show Me What Love Is 1.5/10

When I lay it all out like this, dire, my goodness. I have baseball tickets during the MelFest final thank the lordt or the wondrous production values I've spent multiple posts extolling would trick me into tuning in. What's weird about this MelFest final is that it's pretty bereft of the kind of things that usually PMO about bad MelFest entries but is nonetheless really quite bad. I think "Bara bada bastu" might be the weakest MelFest final #1 I've ever had since and possibly including "Kizunguzungu" in 2016. Nonetheless, I will be hoping it can pull something off and fly the flag for Sweden in Basel. If production truly intended to go full-court press on crushing it, including some assertive whispers to international juries, they wouldn't have given it such a plum running order spot, so I think the window is open.

Also, what's with the running motif in this NF of not only American country music but specifically themes and imagery of the American Southwest? Because I live in the American Southwest and lemme tell ya it is not worth two (2) tributes in the same Melodifestivalen final.

I usually don’t listen to music like KAJ but Damn it that’s catchy. And I am always more into basic pop euro poop. Haha. 😄 I cross my fingers that someone other than Mans gets to experience Eurovision.

Is KAJs music Schlager or folks music? Just wondering.

I hope you have a good time. If you want a good sight of Stockholm you should go to Mosebacke on Södermalm where a nice view of Stockholm can be seen from the hill perspective. Although the restaurant may not be open in the winter.

Tack! 💜

I would say it's basically a schlager with an accordion.

I kind of want KAJ to win just to send a fun song for once, or maybe "Believe Me", even though I don't think either of them are amazing songs or anything. I just had fun watching and listening to their performances.

I don't want Måns to win but obviously he will win. I don't know why people are even speculating, it's so obvious he will win it's not even funny. Måns was predicted as the winner before anyone even heard the song. As long as the song isn't shit he will win with anything if the stage is flashy. I think his song is okayish.

As for the song I personally liked the most it's probably "Hush Hush", it feels very early 2000s Turkey ESC to me. But I don't see it having any chances of winning hence why I'm rooting for the other two above.
I would say that Sweden sending KAJ would be pretty Kureiji even. 😎 No but honestly it'd make me incredibly happy to see them at Eurovision and they would instantly become my number one, but I also doubt that will happen. So I just hope they win the televote and BBB becomes a big summer hit in Sweden and Finland and maybe the dude's can come back with another banger in the UMK. People here absolutely adore them. 💖

KAJ would bring the best fun/ joke song of the season to Eurovision. The live performance is so good and the song so catchy.

Especially to Tommy‘s poor effort this is soo good and enjoyable in comparison.

It would be so awesome if they won instead of Mans.

Maja Ivarsson's charisma is off the charts and you know i love dynamic power rock songs. Felin - "Solo Anthem" comes to mindxheat

The craziest thing is that in this metric Armenia still got the better of Sweden with 10 greens and 2 reds.. I blame Klara Hammarström

KAJ are about to hit 2 Million views on Youtube, I guess probably tomorrow hred

Come on Sweden, if Germany can send two Austrians to bring the german language back to Eurovision, you can send three finns to bring the swedish language back! You do not want Måns to win anyway - think of your economy, who would want to pay for hosting again so soon? Instead, save this cursed season and take us to the Sauna 🥺xcheer

No. It's basically modern pop with rap verses, hard to define but the chorus is somewhat influenced by early 20th century popular songs.

Total shocker to see Saga win Heat 5 but good for her.

Also a historic show with 4 females acts moving on to the final. I believe Dolly Style and Meira Omar were the right choices from 2nd chance. Very happy to see them performing again next week. :D

Harsh to not surprised seeing Vilhelm only end up 4th in the final heat.

What would you say about USA joining Eurovision or would you prefer an American contest with south and north america? Only problem with USA joining Eurovision is the time difference which makes it hard for USA to arrange when winning and the strange hours when you watch from America but I for one would like to see USA in Eurovision, if one can have Azerbadjan America shouldn`t be impossible. It is also smart for Eurovision if they dont want a competitor to Eurovision to arise in the Americas. But for us musicfans it would be entertaining to have a contest in the Americas to watch.

Btw why did New Jersey Hockey team choose the devil as a symbol isn`t that strange and immoral in a quite christian country?
