I have 72% with ditz.

Gary, let's toast, it won't happen again soon and I feel that given our many differences our similarities demand poison. One glass on RAYE, the other on FAKY.

Before questions, you are looking at a multidimensional object squashed down to 2 dimensions. If we only imagine a third dimension one can easily explain the Leydan situation with that.

Yesterday and this morning I updated all main statistics namely:

- Final percentages
- Top 10 percentages
- Top 3 percentages
- WV league
- Medal table (both users and countries)
- and the beloved ON TRACK ranking!

Feel free to take a look! (Link in the Opening post)

As expected the fluctuation of the number of participants in the course of the years slowly but surely gets reflected in the statistics in a way that users who have joined lately have a higher chance to qualify and therefore achieve relatively good average scores. I don't wanna sound bitter but all those greenhorns don't even know what it is like to compete with 60+ or 70+ rivals to qualify for a Grand final. These kids today can make the final with anything xqueenbitch

For example, Marcos now has joined the statistics after having completed ten editions and he immediately positions himself on 6th place in the Final percentage ranking followed by another newbie hjarnskakning aka Doggy on 7th position.
In the Top 10 percentage ranking greenhorn Zeus moved up to 3rd place with an impressive score of 37% only topped by Ash and Kai.

I haven't updated the Full average ranking table since 154 anymore (that's basically "on track" but with all editions ever) but I would guess the users who joined lately do kinda well, too. Because when you flopped terribly in the early days of WV places like 60th or 62th got taken into account of your average place, but if you flop Loreen-style these days there are places around 40th or so that do not hurt that much if it happens to you once or twice

One day, I promise, I will also update the Full average ranking again!

In other news.. I need one more Top 10 result to finally catch up the big Trece in WV league. Cross fingers for me

In the folder I shared with you there's this m-e-p.xlsx thingy which has the positions of people by percentage. You can use that to solve for competition size variability.

Do keep in mind there is a rather large unfairness when there is less competition, as while it might seem more difficult to get a high position if there is more competition, we should expect competition to be similar in general so the percentage should not change. However, if there are more players there are also more niche voters and as such the viability of certain songs goes up because they are less reliant on getting a good draw (as per the HT/HH paradox, also called the 'hot hand' paradox). Put simply: the smaller the competition, the more powerful it becomes to play the meta.

Watch the first bit to understand the problem up to the point where he goes into boring formulae. Then after that go to 5:10 or so where he explains it in terms of a soccer match and you will immediately understand that HT and HH are not at all the same:

This paradox is all over WV due to our semi system.

:fo: leading them is out of this world, never felt so recognized in a contest except my beloved Wfsc (but here it is way more difficult because it is almost as triple as many) xheart
