@94ayd. The only right variant for Ukrainain would be "Вау" because this is how we pronounce it and this is how she wrote it. In any case there will be English version called "I'm So Amazing" (lulz).

In "Шиншилла"' music video it's written "ВАУ", too. So, I guess you have no idea why this has happened in Ukrainian?

Actually the answer is written in my message which you've already quoted
Though some words were Ukrainized in order to make it more comfy for our pronunciation.

Sometimes we write "У" in the beginning. Oscar Wild = Оскар Уайльд, Wales = Уельс.
Sometimes "B".... Washington = Вашингтон
It rather depends of softened sounds which come after the first "w". If those sounds are really soft then it would be more reasonable to use "У" in the beginning. In this particular case "a" is squeezed between 2 sounds without additional soft pronunciation which is usually displayed as Ь in cyrillic alphabet. + original pronunciation of course.
