Re: SPAIN 2016

It seems that Maverick is the best option for Spain,
but let's wait for the songs first.

Re: SPAIN 2016

Finally some good news from Spain! This looks and sounds very promising! I really hope one of these artits comes up with a really good, modern up tempo song with some spanish flavour... in spanish of course!
Very excited to hear the songs now!

All 6 songs are up-tempo? Some variety would be nice.

Re: SPAIN 2016

Neither does 6 songs of a similar mould.

Well I don't think quality should really be sacrificed for the sake of variety, which is exactly what happens in these cases. If they 6 great uptempo songs then I'd rather they keep all them instead of binning 5 and bring in some different genres just to add some variety.

A good song is a good song no matter what tempo it is. If all the best songs are dance then so be it. If all the best songs are ballads then so be it. Spain need to look for the best not whine about the amount of ballads or uptempos

I agree in earnest, but I seriously doubt all 6 of the songs are good. Hell, if half of them are good I'd be surprised. I'm sure there were great ballads out there and at least one of them could have been used, but I think the broadcaster has made a conscious decision to go up-tempo this year.

By now and with no clue about the songs, I'm absolutely devoted to Electric Nana. Besides she is a real eurofan and we are having a very big time today with her in Twitter.

But I do think it can matter in the final outcome of the contest... If you have many ballads like in 2015, you really have to stand out to receive good scorings... Many ballads everyone thought would do good, failed,...

Re: SPAIN 2016

So most predictions flopped

I'm not too excited about this selection, but let's hope to be wrong...

My hope is Maverick with a good latin song to rock the dancefloors.

The first favourite in the Spanish polls so far is Electric Nana, but I'm afraid I'm not gonna like her song. Same goes for Barei and María Isabel. I'm sure Xuso Jones will go with an ESCish copy of "Heroes" and I don't think it's the way. That Salvador Beltrán is a completely new name for me. Conclusion: we need a guy for 2016

Anyway, let's wait for the songs. I had zero interest in Brequette in 2014, but in the end her song was the best that ever happened in a Spanish NF xheart

Brei's song is likely to be a ballad, or at least med or slow tempo, something Aminata-ish. Anyway, we don't know if every song will be up-tempo. So far, it's only confirmed that Maverick's song will be. Xuso's description could fit to "Heroes" but also to "Amanecer", about Salvador's song we only know it's "happy" and we know nothing about María Isabel.

That looks like a very good line-up.

To all the pessimistic ones, don't worry we have knon things like that from TVE...

Re: SPAIN 2016

While we're posting hits I'd like to suggest a surprise wildcard given to Karmele Marchante. She was truly robbed in 2010 when she tried to represent Spain with this gem. xcry1

Spain really do know how to write a great song.
