G:son better stay in Sweden. They found a good interpret but the song is a mess. The other songs in their pre-selection were not great bure more listenable. 1 point.

By far and away the best Spanish entry of recent years. Gorgeous song...production-wise it reminds me a little of Leona Lewis's version of Run. The bookies over here rate it a 20/1 chance for victory and I'm on big time. Not sure she can topple Sweden's entry which has got "winner" written all over it, but I think she's nailed on for a top-4 finish.

My friend and I are going on holiday to Barcelona from 25th to 30th May 2012, and we really want to suss out a good place to watch the Eurovision final on Saturday 26th. Is there anyone from Barcelona here (or anyone that knows it well) that would be able to recommend any good bars that we can watch the contest in?

Any suggestions are appreciated - our hotel is in Eixample, near Sagrada Familia but we could go to any other areas if the atmosphere is good. :)

And I also believe that Pastora will help Spain secure a very well deserved top 5 finish on the evening - very classy song ;)

Hi! I'm from Barcelona and I'm pretty sure that you will be able to find lots of bars in which esc will be broadcasted. There's a football match between Serbia and Spain at 18 CET, and esc is after that so I think there will be no problem. Remember that here in Spain people love football (it's not my case, fortunately).
if I find out any esc parties with no reservation I will let you know

Italy , as last year , won't give a single point to Spain, it's just too classic for them
Spain, as usual, will give high scores to Italy.

I'm not from Barcelona, but if I'm not wrong Eixample is a pretty gay area, so there will be pubs there where you can see ESC. Anyways, Eurovision is at 21:00, very soon (at least for Spanish time), so you can watch it in the hotel while having some rest after long walking around Barcelona and, of course, having some drinks
And then you can go out to celebrate Spanish victory!

I guess is more likeable to think that a great part of Italian points don't come from Italians.
ESC is not popular here. In my experience, most of the people don't know what it really is and even folks who watch it as a night show often don't vote.
That makes "diaspora" votes very heavy in the ranking. Also, having been out of ESC for many years, the "political friends factor" isn't well known (S.Marino is a different case because we consider it as our small twin).
Btw I think that "Quédate conmigo" is the kind of song Italians would love. I hope to see a great support from my country to Pastora.

Amen to that!! :D

By the way OGAE Greece gave 6pts to Spain! (very low if you ask me! ;) ) I gave my 12 points in the voting though. :)

I was surprised as well that Italy didn't give any points to Spain last year (also because the tv-host Raffaella Carrà was immoderately cheering for Spain while commenting the final ).
Quedate conmigo, however, is very Sanremo style. It should suit italian taste. The problem is that few italians watch ESC and even less vote, but the jury could award this song.
