There is a digital meeting with Pastora on RTVE website. I have asked if they are thinking about doing something like this with the arrangements, since Pastora said on Facebook she loved this video.
Since 0:45. :-D. Still waiting for the answer.

I can understand somebody is not a ballad-lover and may dislike the song, but hey! It deserves at least one point for starters as appreciation for the great singer Pastora Soler is :D

... If it was a singing contest perhaps.

But since it's a song contest, it's the song that counts. Now I don't hate it myself, but if people dislike the song why should they give points because of the singer?

But this will be another jury-wank together with some others because they argue in a similar way: singing > song > performance

I am not agree with you. Not always is the song what counts. In that case, the Israel's song Millim should have done better position in Esc, although the singer failed live, but the song did plof. Same with Amaury.
By the other side, winners as Ell & Nikki, did well because their song was nice, but they couldn´t sing. So it was an unfair victory for me.
I prefer an average song with a great singer that a good song with average singers.
Esc is a song contest, true, but it should have a minimun requirement about the quality of the singers in a live show. If the singer fails ----> the song to the bottom (no matters if its the greatest song of all time).

Very nice ballad. I prefered "Tu vida es tu vida", but this is also good. I am glad that Spain is sending something classy again after entries of debatable quality.

Disagree, it's not a singing contest, we have plenty of shows for that purpose alone (Idol, X-factor, The Voice), we don't need another one.

However, yes, if a song is badly sung, it deserves to fail.

But, a well sung BAD song deserves to fail aswell, because in the end of the day we're looking for the best songs and not voices.

I think Ell & Nikki's win was unfair for plenty of other reasons than their singing to be honest.

So... which one of you Spaniards will have the privilege of having me as a guest of honor next year? Because I am starting to think that Spain could really take it all the way this year.

Your comment regarding Eli & Nikki is spot on. My first reaction was: "This? This is the best song of the entire contest? THIS? Am I on Punk'd?" Plus I find universally favorable comments of commentators kinda... weird. Now, I'm not insinuating anything, but all along it was like "why bother watching, it seems that it has been already decided..."

Now, back to Pastora's song... I pointed out few days ago in a thread dedicated to Humpty Dumpty Engelbert that this is not a radio contest and that great voice simply doesn't cut it anymore. And it is true, it takes oh so much more than that... However, with such a good interpretation (I dare to say goosebump-producing climax), this one just cannot flop. And it's not only the voice, Pastora actually carried out the entire song the best way possible. You just trust her when she sings, you don't even have to know a word of Spanish because of her gift to transfer the raw emotion to the audience.

After all, let's remember Marija Šerifović. Of course, she has amazing voice, but it was her quirkiness and odd looks that landed her the trophy that year, not only voice. She captured the audience without fancy stage gimmicks and choreography. All it took was her voice and her vibe. And I kinda sense that Pastora will do great this year.

Eh eh. This song is definitely top 10 material. It's going to be a jury's favourite and I think it's going to do well in public's televoting. Maybe top 5. I wouldn't mind if it won the contest, though.

Oh, come on now! :) I am not usually good at predicting winners, but "Quedate conmigo" gives me the exact itchy feeling "Molitva" and "Fairytale" gave me.

I must be deaf. Why are people so enamoured with her vocal performance? She was shaky throughout the whole song and shouted the rest of the time.

I like the song but she's got a lot of work ahead of her and it's by no means a winner as it stands now.
