"Horehronie" is my all time favorite ESC entry, but yeah the staging was a bit odd, the backing vocalist completely destroyed her part and Kristina isn't the best live singer either (although, I must say, she's not that bad either, she just isn't a powerful singer but on the other hand this entry would be destroyed with a wannabe American wailer). However, we should not forget that juries loath local sounding entries, and they love American nonsense wailing so they'd kill it regardless of staging
Anyways, I want Slovakia back, they had one of the best local selections 2009-2010 and have been unfairly underrated both in the 90's and in those two first years from coming back (what they sent 2011-2012 were shite though). However, I don't see them returning but one can hope

On that basis I'd be surprised if Celeste Buckingham herself isn't offering up her services for Slovakia next year... don't even know much about her but it's a real shame that this major hole in Central Europe still exists when it comes to ESC...

Well, RTVS truly is not doing well financially, for many years now. They almost went bankrupt at the beginning of this decade.
Right now they are going through a deep political crisis, so they have probably other things to be worried about than Eurovision. The management is getting rid of people who are not sucking up to them. Quite a few people in the News department are leaving at protest due to censorship and propaganda from the management. Looking at SK/PL/HU state TVs, I am really happy that our state TV is free of such things.
Oh well, maybe in 10 years, Slovakia...

Isn't there a private channel in Slovakia that is an EBU member or potentially could be and simply take over the rights if the state broadcaster can't or won't enter for whatever reasons?
