Please be back.

I think Slovakia will be back if CZECH REPUBLIC return, so they can return together.

I think that Czech Republic return when Hungary/Slovakia or Poland (if they come back) win. That's only way.

Hopefully Celeste Buckingham. :p
As much as I love her, I don't think she would be a good choice anymore. Even though she's like the biggest star in Slovakia right now, she can't sing that good live. I can already see people complaining about her weak live vocals, especially when people trashed Kristína's live performance which wasn't that bad at all IMO. (speaking of Celeste, here's her new single with another big Slovak star - rapper Majk Spirit - Majk Spirit & Celeste Buckingham - I was wrong - YouTube )

I'm optimistic about Slovakia's return, despite the low ratings from 2012. They have quite a few good female singers like Katarína Knechtová, Jana Kirschner, Zuzana Smatanová, Zdenka Predná, Mária Čírová and Dominika Mirgová. They should send one of them.

Or they should send Rytmus to show the world who's the real king of pop xrofl Rytmus prod. Sukowach - JEBE (OFFICIAL CLIP) - YouTube
Actually, Rytmus could bring back the interest in the contest. He's the most controversial and also one of the biggest stars on Slovak/Czech music scene. Everyone would watch ESC just for the lulz!

Please come back Slovakia! But choose your entry wisely, no need to go desperately wannabe American on us like in 2011-12.

Something like this could be nice:

Please come back! xpray
I don't want to see their broadcaster whining about budget - apparently they have enough money, they are preparing a new documentary series about wine (xfacepalm) which is going to cost them 620 000 EUR.

That would be so great so see Slovakia.

They we're so underrated in 2010 and 2011, they deserved the final..

Not really bothered about Slovakia coming back, unless Kristina makes a triumphant return.

I loved the Slovak national selection method between 2009-2010, actually I think they were having one of the best national selections of all ESC countries... alot of people hail MF as the best NS, but MF is partly a humor/spectacle show and half a music show (and the music quality can be discussed)... the quality and seriousness of the Slovak selection was imo better.

Germany even claimed that they invented the "showing live % voting numbers on screen" for their 2012 selection, which was actually first used in Slovakia's selection

However, don't get me started on how extremely underrated and unfairly treated :sk: has been in ESC!

They came back after many years in 2009 with a serious ballad in native language that had the best live vocals of ESC 2009, yet the juries couldn't even give them a pass to the final when they had the power to give a wildcard (but they gave Finland a wildcard with dated Eurodance ).

In 2010 Slovakia entered which imo is the best ESC entry to date, which was far above musically than many that qualified, a genuine entry in native language with folk-elements and even a bit of a fan-fav... but being a small land-locked country in Central-Europe without voting pals, without much diaspora and without the help of pro-westernized jury groups... they failed :( Again I'm convinced had they just had another flag and country name, they would have qualified to the final atleast.

Ironically when they sent Americanized cheese in English 2011, then juries suddenly had them in their top. 10 xshrug ... so sending genuine entries in native language wasn't appreciated, but selling out was? xshrug

2012 was awful though and got what it deserved by both juries and televoters...

And don't get me started on the 90's years, when juries had more power... Slovakia ended in the bottom 5(6) in 1996 and 1998, with great and well-sung entries xshrug...

"I Am Still Alive" was a great song, I must say xshrug If the song was sent by Russia, it would have been a top 10 hit, I'm sure xthink

Each to their own... however you're probably right about the last part

Slovakia's problem has not been their entries (well 2012 it was), but not being a "popular enough" country amongst the different voting groups (both televoters and juries).

It's not considered "western" enough by juries to be helped, it's not considered "eastern enough" by the ex-USSR to welcome them in their "family", it's land-locked between countries were ESC isn't really that popular, it doesn't have a large diaspora...

oh well :(
