I mean, it is if you hate folk, but I love unfiltered south-slavic folk as showcased by Elitsa & Stoyan and Balkanika in previous years which will hopefully be brought by Tulia in Tel Aviv. Maybe I love those songs because that's the sound I grew up with, being that I am half-Bulgarian. Songs like "Lane moje" though, I don't know. They just don't feel genuine. I have never heard a song like Joksimovic's that had been composed before 2004 and god knows how many times I've visited Serbia. (at least ten times)
Anyway, if you love your precious Zhejlko, best to cover your ears now.
I think Zheljko's songs are -to use a term that is way to popular around this place- fanwanks. He selects elements of folk music and spins them into endless narratives which never go anywhere, really. Worse, this compositions gives the next generation a wrong impression of their culture's own musical traditions, which far more raw and intricate than they're been given credit for. But because Joksimovic's compositions are pleasantly insipid (even though they're just a dulling hum), best not to ask critical questions, let alone resort to critical thinking.

Placed it 12th on my ranking with 7 points. Dzenan would have been 8th with 8 points. Not that much difference.
But I just loved that old woman knitting and crying during Dzenan's performance. Can't Dzenan just send her to Tel Aviv let Nevena use her for her performance? I just want her to sit on the corner and do her thang while Neneva is singing kruna.

This is pretty good. I had a feeling it would win when I was listening through the studio versions. It's not Lana & Aldo but Nevana will still be a pleasant addition to this years lineup. There's something about the verses of her song that I like, and it's got a powerful (if close on the predictable side) chorus. It's a really solid choice and easily one of the better songs picked so far this year.

I really dont know what to think of Kruna. Those parts in english seem really out of place. When she is hitting the high notes I think she's got a great voice, but in the lower parts she doesnt convince me. The same actually goes for the song.
So a 5 or a 6 maybe? Although this has potential to clim. I've actually only watched and heard the live performance.

Eh, I think she's really, really borderline no matter what. Like, she sings well and heavens knows the song is better than Georgia's, but there's not much going on at all. Balkanika at least were untinentionally hilarious, you know?

-She has very good vocals.
-The instrumentals match up well with her vocals.
-I like the transition from just a ballad to more of a power rock ballad, if that makes sense.

-I only wish that this was more of a rock ballad, though. She looks like she could pull it off, too.

This is a nice entry from Serbia. I like the overall presentation of what's going on here. My only staging suggestion is that I would like the presence of a backing band to really sell the point that it's a rock ballad as the song progresses. Maybe focus on just her at the beginning and then reveal the band as it comes to an end. Other than that, a very good effort here. Serbian Lita Ford, anyone? 10 points

Decent choice, a nice balkan ballad. Obviously far away from her iconic Moje 3 entry but cool to have her back alone.
Don't really have anything else to say about it. Up there with Albania in my ranking (which I still prefer tho)

A very sleepy rock ballad. Should go to final just to bring a differnt flavour. But not strong enough to pull off a better than usual result (6 times 12 points, 35 times at the bottom )
