Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

Kristina discovered Danica via YouTube and this performance:
Kristina said that her initial idea was to find an unknow singer for her song that she described as upbeat happy pop song :)

out of the descriptions Aleksandra's song is the one I'm looking forward to the most.

I heard for Nina for the first time right now and I'm delighted. That girl has a really great voice!

The Breeze is not my cup of tea, so probably I'll not like their song!

And finally I adore Aleksandra Kovač, so she is my number 1!!!!!!

It seems to me that we will have an interesting evening, only for me this group Breeze isnt my cup of tea, such as Scooby said, I do not think that I will like that style of song

Nina looks cute and I hope she will give her best in that song:

Aleksandra was so excited and she believe that she has the right song for the ESC

I'm looking forward to Kristinas song the most...
As Bata described his song as 60's song... Alexandras song is a ballad which mostly isn't my cup of tea... and Kristina said her song was a modern uptempo song so...

Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

Honestly speaking, I think all 3 have solid voices, but with all due respect I think non of these 3 singers can entertain viewers.
I'm disappointed by what Aleksandra said about her song (ballad) I like some of her music but only when it's up tempo. Her ballads r depressing.
Surprised by Kristina's choice (NINA), never heard of her, but ok. Girl is 'nice', a bit too shy and ordinary for the show bizz. The song from Youtube reminds me of some pop-ish RnB from Macedonia.
The Breeze - singer has good voice, I like his singing, but they already look so retro 60's, even if song was ultra-modern they would turn it into retro.
Hopefully I'm completely wrong, we'll see in 10 days what the songs r really like.

Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

I am very pleased with the performers :)

I also think that this year the fight will be much, much more equalized, and that Aleksandra Kovac is only a "mild" favorite, because she is the most popular singer of the 3 (but the singer of Breeze isn't totally anonymous either), but she is not unbeatable, especially if the other songs are better. I personally don't have a favorite, I hope that the best song will win :) Whatever we sent, it finally won't be ethno, and it will be something different. I am also a bit disappointed with how Aleksandra was announcing an extra, super, mega vocal, and then she chose herself. But if the song is really that good, she will my support in Dusseldorf.

This girl NINA is a guilty pleasure of mine, I never heard of her, but she sings great :D She reminds me of Andrea Susnjara who sang with Cukrov in Moscow.

Aleksandra is a great and experienced singer who can take the stage by storm. Her voice is accurate, soothing and powerful! I would be more than glad to have another great ballad this year, something that will give me goosebumps! I would even like to see the song performed in English, at least she would pronounce it properly :)

Nina has a great voice and a great potential and even if she doesn't win this could help her career, which is more than necessary to Serbian pop music.

The band...I don't really care :)

Agree! :) I also never heard of Nina, but she has great voice and also reminds me of Andrea. On that pic which Scooby posted, I thought Andrea has a new hairstyle

Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

Indeed, she does look like Andrea a lot

Tonight on RTS (21:00 CET), in the "Bingo" show there will be all 3 performers and all 3 composers, which means the show will be "ESC themed" :D

I so wanted to watch BH Eurosong but I will have to watch either this or both at the same time

Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

One small reminder of some of the earlier Serbian entries on ESC (as an independent state or serbian acts in ex-yu)

Baby Doll - Brazil (Yugoslavia 1991) (Kovač sisters was back vocals)

Snežana Berić - Ljubim te pesmama (FR Yugoslavia 1992) - for me one of the best songs ever

Željko Joksimović & Ad Hoc Orchestra - Lane moje (SCG 2004)

Marija Šerifović - Molitva (Serbia 2007)

Jelena Tomašević - Oro (SRB 2008)

I am proud because we always send something owns, our heart and soul, I am proud that we did not copy others, and I am most proud of the fact that we always sang in our Serbian language!

Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

^^ That is what I like about our songs too :) I love that we stick to our language, and have never sung in English (although I wouldn't mind to try once for a change). This was a nice flashback :D Our best songs so far were "Lane Moje" and "Molitva" imo, and the worst one hmmm......."Cipela" From the earlier entries you mentioned here I liked "Ljubim Te Pesmama" from 1992 a lot too, as well as "Brazil" That song is epic :D

Re: СРБИЈА - Serbia 2011

I watched last night this lottery show at RTS, where Aleksandra, Nina and Breeze performed. From what I saw/heard I think Nina was the best last night (she sang amazingly good, like a pro. I think if Aleksandra sang the same song...as Nina....it would be much much worse.).
And Duška Vučinić Lučić....OMG!! This PR is so conceited, unrealistic and full of sh**! X-OI
