The performance wasn't great, but maybe a better one wouldn't have saved it - perhaps this type of song and staging doesn't have broad enough appeal to qualify.

The staging was all over the place, it hurt my eyes. There was too much happening which was completely distracting the audience away from the performers.
It would have fared better with something simpler, can’t say if that would have been enough to qualify though.
I looked at the NF performance to check the performance. There were interesting parts of it, those parts remain in the SF but they did not stand out in that whole mess that was everything, everywhere, all at once.
