Freaky was a really bad song. I don't have high hopes for San Marino unfortunately. I like Senhit's personality, she seems to be a cool person and always show a good attitude and spirit, but she is simply a weak singer with a very boring monotone voice that I don't see working well with anything really. I would hope for some sort of Italian language ballad, but since her vocals has little range and yeah, is generally boring, it would probably end up something like Stand By which has like no proper melody to it. Also San Marino clearly struggles with attracting a good enough team of composers/songwriters, which also doesn't help.

Since it's painfully obvious by now that they won't attract any good names, I think they should just write a lifetime contract with Valentina Monetta and at least they will be represented by a good local singer.

Senhit is giving me the same positive feeling I had upon Serhat's return to the contest. I think she even has the potential to do better than him. If she flops it'll be because of the song, not HER, so the song better not be a letdown.

that would be great and I've wanted them to do that for years. The question is if they would do it.. (tho they could pick any Sanremo act not just the runner-up and it'd still be better than all their entries through the years combined hahah)

I've been proposing for years that they pick the runner-up, or heck anyone in the top 10, of Sanremo. But maybe it was vaguely implied in my comment, but I simply think no one wants to do it from the Sanremo participants it seems and that's the issue. I wouldn't be surprised if it crossed the mind of the Sanmaranese delegation, but they were met with declines.

Also it seems times changed alot from the years when Luxembourg and Monaco competed, it truly seems tougher for microstates these days. The public are less supportive but also the jury, since EBU probably prefer countries to win that can actually host it. Back then you could host it in some smaller venue in Luxembourg City and it was ok, but these days with the huge audience, demanding staging etc. it's simply not profitable.

Didn't know they offered Arisa, probably they offered other Sanremo acts as well but as I wrote, it seems they weren't lucky with it. Maybe Arisa's label etc. weren't up for helping to pay for enter for San Marino? I dunno Probably the Sanmarinese broadcaster is relying heavily on subsidies from RAI and to cover the rest of the costs to go to Eurovision, it seems the acts need to cover that themselves.

I am not sure if they were more willing to help Monetta since she's actually a local, but remember she had Ralph Siegel backing her up and he probably paid for most of the expenses. I don't know how Serhat's financial status looks like, but he has his own production company in Turkey and maybe he can afford it.

Senhit is more of a mystery, since let's be honest I doubt her music career is doing much for her income. Maybe she just has a rich husband or something? Wouldn't be the first
