Ralph Siegel is giving her a chance she wouldn't get otherwise and she's grateful for it. I honestly couldn't imagine anyone else doing as well with his material as she does. I think Valentina likes these songs very much that he is making for her. She certainly connects with them. The problem is Ralph Siegel's sparkly, dated production.
I was hoping for a piece of jazz or something neoclassical but what we got is the follow up to "Crisalide" which is fine by me.. but i'm really worried for Valentina now. This probably wasn't the right direction to go in. I must admit I love it though.
She can do so much better. Heck, she has proven she can do so much better. Then why, for God's sake, doesn't she do it? Does Siegel hold her children hostage, or what's going on?

2012... yes, the song was stupid, but The Social Network Song was in my top 20
2013... Crisalide was in my top 10
2014... Maybe (or Forse, whichever one it is) is in my top 20 right now, and maybe (get it?) getting close to my top 10.

Valentina trolls the fans that don't like her but as Danny pointed out, she isn't trolling with "Forse". The song actually makes me feel quite emotional. The underlying sadness to it. I don't know what the italian lyrics are about but the english version is quite bittersweet. She's saying all the things that might happen.. but it's not certain. All of this will only "Maybe" happen. And Valentina's voice conveys so much pain and heartache that I just can't take the positivity from the message.. and that's the beauty of the song. It might be a relic but Valentina's interpretation is raw. A sincereness like no other artist i've heard that's been in the contest. I connect with her so much.

this reminds me of the end of Vola though, it just kind of goes on and on like she's singing to herself while cooking or something, there doesn't seem to be any real structure, the song just trundles along and doesn't seem to go anywhere. i just hope she qualifies so we can see someone else representing the most serene republic next year tho, it's getting a bit sad at this stage

The english version just made me well up. It takes a special kind of song to leave me watery eyed. I think i'm upset as well that Valentina's most honest, emotional piece to date is getting unfavourable reactions. I honestly think it's twice as good as "Crisalide" and people were able to look past the production on that. I hope those that aren't feeling it now give it a chance.

I don't know what it is, but I really like it. For San Marino, at least. As far as Valentina's songs go, this one is far and away the best one. It's not "modern" but it's got a certain charm and beauty to it. I also get a sense of melancholy and longing from it. Really lovely song. It's a shame that I feel like San Marino still won't qualify. Maybe if they were in Semi 2 they could have, but with so many heavy hitters in this Semi, I find it hard to imagine. Would be awesome if they do.
