It feels very special to be a part of the cult of Valentina Monetta. I spread her gospel everywhere I go. She has already gone viral in the world of Xbox Live. When I play online I spam The Social Network Song down my microphone for all to hear. If I recieve hate mail for being too wonderful at a game, I respond by sending the person a picture message of Valentina with a voice mail attached playing the song. Im doing my part for the cult and it feels magnificent!

- Hello, Valentina, and first of all our congratulations for being selected San-Marinese representative at Eurovision 2012! How do you feel now becoming Eurovision participant?
- Thank you very much .. first of all I am honored to participate in the ESC 2012. I am very proud, I'm in the clouds ...ohoh..
)- Have you been following the contest in the past? What are your memories connected with it?
- In 2008 I tried to enter the ESC with a song of mine, but to no avail .. then last year I became a fan
- How you learnt about Eurovision proposal, who informed you about that and what was your first though on it?
- It all happened in few hours really. All was ready for them but then there were problems and Carmen Lasorella, the director of RTV San Marino had to find another singer to represent the country. I happened to be in the right place at the right time! That night I had a gig with my jazz trio in a club in Riccione. A perfect setting for an audition. Even if we had several technical and health problems that night Carmen liked what she saw and heard, my passion and my voice were there. Carmen sent me off to Munich right away to record the song. I liked the song and made it my own easily and I'm literally in the seventh heaven. But the fever rises and then the polemics and trouble but I made myself strong as a little country and just when everything seemed already lost I found again my Cinderella shoe and we are back on track. And now I'm stronger than ever and here we go! You know the rest!
- How can you describe your song in one phrase?
- Flying around orbiting the earth..hahah
))- You obviously had to bring some changes into your song, are you happy with the final result?
- I like it, I think the second version is even better ... just because the voice reflects the meaning of the message,sometimes i'm here sometimes i'm out but the first version .. i feel it much more mine, as my voice will be a Baku
- You have decided to sing in English at the contest, can you explain that? Are you planning to record other versions of the track, other languages?
- As soon as I heard this song I've sung .. it came as a pleasant dream and in this dream I had to sing in English. Especially considering. my musicality with this language. I recorded another beautiful song with Ralph Seigel, and I hope that there will be many more .. I've always sung in English, but since last year I write and compose my own songs in Italian, so I had to get back to study for this opportunity and I am very happy, I love to put into question and learn as much as possible.
- Can you tell us about the music video you’ve made for the entry?
- I enjoyed it a lot, I really like being at home, always sing live and I'm not used to singing in playback and think about my image, but even this is part of the work. Having a full staff at your disposal is not every day, seeing a lot of professionalism and willingness is great, above all because I've always done it alone or with few resources. I am very happy that they had to build my image, I am just like you see me in the video.
- What is the aim you set for yourself at the Eurovision 2012?
- My voice, My smile, my spontaneity and my energy, others think the rest.
- Songwriter of your entry, Ralph Siegel, has massive Eurovision experience, has he shared any advices?
- Ralph tells me not to worry too much for the complications that often arise in managing our work and a sincere smile wrapped serves more experience ...
- Can you already reveal some details on your staging? Who will join you on stage, whether there will be backing vocalists or dancers, can you introduce them? Are they same persons that are featured in the video?
- 16 April I will go to Monaco to define precisely the show. I will definitely have the 5 singers who were already with me in the video. The rest will be a surprise ....
))- Will you go on promotion of the song abroad? Do you think in general that pre-contest promotion is important for the contest success?
- I think that promotion is important .. we will be in Amsterdam, London, Spain and I hope in many other places.
Becoming known before the contest is also useful for San Marino, that despite being a small republic it has many resources, many artists and ideas, in this case be helped and learn from Europe, it could be the movite for large future collaborations. Yes ,absolutely,to know what people hear by me and by my song in way much more direct.
- What else will be part of your Eurovision preparations campaign?
- I'm preparing my body and my voice mostly and my English to be able to really communicate my message, and I have a great desire to learn and collaborate on everything that makes us feel good ..
- What do you think is more important for Eurovision success: song, performer or the show?
- All three things!
- Have you heard other participating songs in the contest, any personal favourites?
- There are many good songs but the ones I like best are those by Nina Zilli Italy, Rona Nishliu for Albania, Joan Franca Netherland .. strong song for The Trackshittaz Austria ..
))- Russia is sending grannies band “Buranovskiye Babushki” to the contest, have you watched their performance and what are your thoughts about it?
- Buranovskiye Babushki..
)))I love these women..it's surely a celebration of tradition, carefree and pure fun, I think that in this historical moment, those are the more powerful weapons ...- Let's speak briefly on your career. What do you consider as the main highlight of it?
- I sing since I was a child but I have always shared a passion for the work. I made a lot of work to cover what I wanted when I realize, I'm in love then it's over. Today I have a new awareness and a long time I ask to have an opportunity and I hope so .. it's just the beginning of a beautiful career.
- How do you determine your music genre? What are the singers, having the biggest influence on you?
- I love jazz in all its expressions and interpretations ... going from pop to soul, R & B - hiphop, no doubt ... dancemusic . Artists like James Brown, MGBlige, W.Houston, Fitzgerald She and many others .. shaped my musicality ..
- Few days ago you have performed at Titano theater, can you tell us more about this project?
- Apparently it is true, when you ask you receive. And this year I've asked a lot for myself .. no accident that the show I did at Titano Theatre of San Marino, is titled' ' .. WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MAKES ''.. a melodrama in which I play as well as sing .. dedicated to a great Italian singer Ornella Vanoni. From last year I study also to become an actress .. but we know it always starts from one's life, taking with them as companions of passion Maximilian Castri, Simone Migani and Alex Migani Gorbi, the musicians of the show and as a director Fabrizio Raggi.
A true celebration of love from hell to purgatory to paradise with music and monologues, with songs and my personal versions of many successes of Italian music from the 60's to today, played by O.Vanoni.
- Have you ever taken a part in the singing competitions?
- Yes,many times but never to such an important one.
- You have been entering a song to the first ever preselection of San-Marino in 2008? Was this song made public, can you tell us more on it?
- Yes .. I tried to participate with my song'' SE NON CI SEI TU'' a beautiful funk song sung in Italian, but with no results, despite everything I like to sing it and present it again .. but I am also glad that they went to '' Miodio'''' I had already noticed them, they were very good.
- You have recorded cover version of Ralph Siegel’s entry from Malta last year for your Eurovision CD single. Any plans on other records soon?
- Yes, it's a beautiful song that is very close to my style, after having made the acquaintance of Ralph and I have just expressed the desire to work together again, continuing to make music together ..
- How active are you personally on social networks? Any interesting experience from them?
- I think like everyone - a password and a click ... and go .. and fantastic and dangerous at the same time .. I learned many things using social networks and I work more now that I use them .. but I will not abuse it, not everything is interesting but the world that opens up, is immense.
- And our usual question - can you name us any singers you know coming from ex-USSR, Russia, Ukraine?
- I am very sincere and unfortunately I have no references to grudgingly respecte xcept that your proposal is very strong this year from every point of view
