The Council of Europe has suspended Russia over the attack on Ukraine. The Committee of Ministers with representatives of the 47 member countries decided today to release Russia from its rights of representation within the Strasbourg organization due to serious violations.

That's a suspension only unfortunately. But a just one. It will preserve the competence of CoE to sanction Russia through the Court.

As Russian, I feel this is an absolutely correct decision and I have no problems with it - still rooting for my other favourites. Probably crazy pro-goverenment people always rooting for the flag next to the name would be disappointed, but who cares about them. Please, my homeland, come back once you are healed.
