Day five of rehearsals delivered us a marathon 13 performances to wade through. With impressive performances from Iceland and especially that stalking dark horse Romania, today proved that Loreen has not won this thing without a fight.
Mandinga are clearly on a higher plain of existence – as if Zaleilah needed any improvement at all! Nevertheless, the Romanian delegation have freshened up both the stage graphics and choreography to blisteringly good effect. Romania are not only favourites for the semi-final win, they are now being touted for the Eurovision crown!

If you still haven't sung to yourself Zaleilahby Mandinga, you have to listen to the second rehearsal by Romania and dance. The second rehearsal by the Romania participants has been improved a lot. There were five guys on the stage in white outfits, Elena was dressed in black blouse and orange skirt. There was a trumpet man on the left of the stage who made plastic moves as the song started.
Everything was synchronised. There were two guys with drums and two guys with trumpets. One guy was playing on harmonica. As they had lack in time on rehearsal they tried to make their best on the stage. The first rehearsal was okay but with some minor problems. The second rehearsal was done perfectly by them as they were discussing much time their further steps on the stage.
As the show started all of the guys were playing on various musical instruments making the perfomance memorable. The Mandinga song is very joyful and is going to be a summer hit.

The background was pink with orange flashes and love hearts that matches this summer song

Fantastic!! They are so freakin' entertaining! But I have a couple of comments... I don't like Elena's dress, I still miss the jumping and waving their hands and El Niño needs to put his RayBan on! Love him with these! Other than that, their rehearsal was great! Oh yes that small problem with El Niño's drum hehe. Finally let's wish happy happy birthday to Elena! She turns 24 today!

Romania in the shows costumes with the boys in white and the singer in black and red. The camerawork is now much better and they are really getting a sense of fun across on camera and vocally it’s fine although it’s clear she’s more comfortable in a slightly lower register. The lead-in to the final chorus should be louder and maybe one or two fewer camera changes, but we’re looking at a certain qualifier and another contender to win the whole thing.
Well i just watched Romania's second rehearsal from the press centre and it looks utterly fabulous. The band members are all in white and Elena is in a red skirt and black top with big collar that looks almost like wings on stage. The backdrop is red and black hearts jumping out of the stage and this is one of the slickest performances we have seen today. The live vocals for a dance number are brilliant and everything works. I always had this as a qualifier and can't see that opinion changing yet. I am still working on the dance moves. Improved tremendously from the messy looking first rehearsal - will qualify near the top i think and a good draw could do wonders for this.
After lunch we have Mandinga on stage from Romania. The band are all in white and look fantastic.
Elena has an interesting black see through collar with a black and red short dress.
The vocals are excellent and the movement really slick and the backdrop works well with the song.
Lots of vibrant movement, very colourful and a serious contender.

I would like her to jump a little bit like in the concerts and envolve the public...she is too static and tired.

I am pretty sure that Elena will be much more exuberant and vivacious in the actual contest...
I think she saves herself for the semifinal and for the final also.

Hum, I liked this song before and I still do. Out of my top 10 for now, but just because there are so many songs I like. Anyway after all I've seen from the rehearsals I must admit thery are strong contenders for the best. Obviously in the final!! Good luck, Romania xup

well, every member here is entitled to have its own opinion, objective or subjective.Every artist knows that when he/she chooses this path in life ,it might be bashed.
Mandinga was bashed since it was chosen at the NF,like every other participant. It's the way it is.
But you know what's the funny thing? That (mark my words) Mandinga won't finish with 0 points in Eurovision this year :)

Well im from the UK and bet on Eurovision every year, and have backed the last 6 out of 7 winners.Romania are in my top two this year alongside Italy.
Mandinga have delivered a fantastic song. Its a wonderfull feel good 3 minutes and the group seem such lovely people.
Make no mistake, this is a serious contender to win Eurovision. They will win or be 2nd in the semi final.
If they get a good draw final night Romania are probably favourites. Its a superb entry and good luck to Romania from the UK.

As an Austrian I am always envious about other countries' entries, but Romania did an amazing job this year - again.

They are in TOP 3 for sure and could win maybe....
