I'd prefer countries to send a new artist every year. It may be a song contest, but in most cases, I would like to see new faces and not the same old people over and over again.

I think it's fun to see familiar faces in Eurovision, e.g. Anna Vissi returning after 15 years. That said, I don't like it when previous winners return, 'cause they are most likely to fail big time.

It wasn't cool to watch Charlotte Perelli, Niamh Cavanagh, Dana International etc. trying to make a comeback with bad performances and miserable results. I'd preferred to remember them as great winners.

But other than that, returning artists are more than welcome to give it another try....

Who has the record for most appearances? I can think of a bunch who have three to their name, but no more. Whatever the record, I bet Chiara eventually takes it for herself.

I would quite like to see Jade Ewen return for us as a member of the sugababes. It would also be nice to see Matthías Matthíasson do the reverse by leaving a group to appear on his own.

I expect Eric Saade will come back too. Given a decent song, I expect him to win.

EDIT: Just realised Roman gave two examples of four-timers.

Fud Leclerc came back for Francophone Belgium four times in a row: 56, 58, 60 and 62.

:ee: Urban Symphony // Suntribe // Sahlene // Tanel Padar
Suntribe was purely an Eurovision project. They managed to release two singles. I don't even think anybody liked them...

Urban Symphony can also be classified as an Eurovision project. Three singles, but people (including me) liked them. Sandra became a mother last year and is raising her daughter now. Actually, her child was born exactly a year ago: on 26th July 2010.

Sahlene was "imported" from Sweden for Eurovision. She does not have much to do with Estonia.

Tanel Padar released two great albums with his band The Sun in 2005 and 2006. After that they became quite boring. Now they work with Estonian Idol contest winners (search for Ott Lepland and Liis Lemsalu).

I love their Eurovision entry and it's in my top 10 of ESC 2005. How can i listen to other two singles of theirs ?
Do you refer to MoonTaxi version of Let's get loud ? I would love to listen any other songs of them, just like any other Moonwalk Studio project :)

Two singles in total, including their Eurovision entry "Let's Get Loud", the other is called "Ei tunne mind".

Well, Lys Assia :ch: performed 4 times on an ESC stage, but 2 of those were in the same contest...

Tänan, in my opinion they (escp. Ei tunne mind) do sound much better than their actual ESC entry. The style is very similar to the one of Vanilla Ninja's debut.
