Who cares? My point still stands. I have no problem with people giving their opinions when, you know, they’ve actually seen the performances.

Well they weren't that wrong

Blanche did a very poor rehearsal while NormaJohn did better than expected.

Now, we all should be smart just 5 seconds and acknowledge that this is just what a bunch of eurofans scrutinize, they never represented the audience taste and a bad rehearsal doesn't mean that the song is bad or the performance during the semi is going to be bad too. It is just concerning for those who where bad. Sometimes the song is too good regardless of performance as for Blanche, sometimes they can do everything on point, if the song isn't appealing to the audience, they're not gonna vote for it as for NormaJohn.

For some acts a good rehearsal lead to a good performance that finally lead to a qualification and for some acts a bad rehearsal just means they're not ready and it shows once live preventing them to qualify.

I mean come on, we all know that right ?

To be fair, Blanche‘s performance was PRETTY bad, especially in the semi-final (thank God she improved by the time of the final). So yeah. It was my #1 that year and I loved it so much but I was worried she would not make it to the final with that performance...

Norma‘s was bad either, this time stagewise, her voice was not the problem. Whoever thought a black dress that looked like she could hardly breath and depressing colours would do well with a song like this?

It‘s the same reason why I‘m worried for Austria. The song is beautiful but it’s depressing enough. Thank God he has some glitters in his jacket. Belgium benefits from that decision too.
Iceland 2012, my favourite of that year, would have done much better if Greta didn’t wear a black dress. Black is not the colour of Eurovision unless you have a pretty good staging that goes perfectly with it.

Very much agreed. At the end of the day, how one every performs with the bookies, press poll or fan polls don't matter eventually since those involved are only a fraction of the televote.

The juries and general public have the last say in the end of how an entry performs. So what the ESC fandom likes may not be a true representation of what the juries and general public like.

Sometimes I forget how bad Blanche's perfomances were in the Semi final shows. Sis didn't even make it to the SF jury top 10 (and she made their top 10 in the final!!!)
I think her biggest fear was really getting lost in the semis and once that hurdle was overcome her confidence grew a lot

I think she was kinda affected by what people had to say about her performance.
Like she was young and very stressed but I guess the news saying she was bad and she got 0 points during the press poll came to her and literally destroyed the few confidence left she had back then.

Being in the final left that weight and she was more focus on what she had to do (it was still shaky cause she didn't tame her nervousness, almost impossible in 3 days)

Okay so what is everyone's predictions for the rehearsals tomorrow?

Georgia - Tornike, maybe with a few "band members" on stage in the background. Perhaps on a random chair. Plenty of dramatic eyes into the cameras.

Albania - is it finally time for some random interpretive dancers in the background? Anxhela wears a floofy dramatic dress.

Portugal - identical to the FdC performance.

Bulgaria - some kind of story-telling elements on the screens, Victoria sits/lies down for the majority of the performance, rising to her feet in the last third or so...

Finland - identical to the UMK performance. Everyone goes bonkers because it's so ground breaking...

Latvia - plenty of strobe effect lights. Barbara Dex potential winner outfit. Some dramatic armography and tight choreo with the backing dancers.

Switzerland - Gjon at his piano - dramatic fast paced video montages in the backdrop speeding up as the song progresses.

Denmark - identical to the NF performance with the bonkers embarrassing uncle dancing. More neon outfits.


Let's see how many I get right - I'm very happy for anyone to prove me wrong!

Iceland the best (if people are not tired of this, they look very advantageous).
Greece is good. Great vocals. Although I do not really like Stephanie's costume (but together with the lighting - not bad)
Serbia is good too.

Poland - let's be honest. This is a good performance. He has charisma. But whatever he does, it's like North Macedonia, NQ. I sympathize with them, but I do not see the reality in which they would have made it to the finals. This song is just not popular with fans.

Estonia and the Czech Republic - just ok . Benny Christo has a charm, I hope he does something funny in the full version of the performance, like in his video.

Moldova - beautiful clothes, but constrained movement. And the vocals, I think, were rather weak. I was expecting something brighter

Austria - I love his vocals. And I think he has a great suit. But in the performance itself, I did not see anything winning. I will hope for the finale, but hope is weak.

San Marino - sings well, but I didn't really like the performance. It's too dark. This song demands bright, rich colors. The thing on her head is just weird. But all this will not prevent her from reaching the final, she has the best bop this year.

What is wrong about having the same staging? And yes - I go bonkers because it's a fresh breeze between all the bops and ballads. xheartxheartxheart And certainly no pink and violet staging! xdance2

People don’t get the fact that if Bulgaria or Switzerland make really touching staging, Finland will look like a lot of noise and nothing more.

I am mostly looking forward to Finland, Georgia, Albania and Latvia today! :) Georgia possibly not going thru no matter what staging Tornike will have :(. But I still have hope for Latvia and Albania.

Wiwi are positive about everything they literally are incapable of even giving the most mild bits of criticism everything to them is just “another serving of realness”

Both Albina and Hurricane are trending in Bosnia (#11 and #13): with rehearsals clips. I am suprised Albina gets more attention here since Hurricane has been a big deal for a while now with many songs while Albina is somehow a newcomer.

Albina performed a day earlier, mind you. She's a got a whole day head-start. Hurricane will prevail eventually.

My comment about it being ground breaking wasn't so much in relation to the staging but more the fact that it's the only all out rock/metal song in the semis. As much as I'd like to say different that's going to get a lot of attention.
