Covid-19 is a tricky bastard, but aren't they tested daily though? I think it wouldn't show negative if you're infected but I'm not expert, but if not then why were they allowed to take part live then if there was still a danger?

My mother is a nurse. Unfortunately, there are a lot of cases in which you can be tested "negative" whilst being positive - we have a few cases here in Germany now in which people - who got vaccinated once - have faced a longer "incurbation time". - I'm not an expert either and it's all a new situation for all of us but I strongly believe that it's possible to be infected whilst being tested negative. Sometimes the virus takes a few more days to "fully be deteced".

Maybe Iceland will perform on Saturday if the remaining performers have been tested negative for a second or third time?

I hear you! Well if that's the case I fully back their decision, but what made it confusing to me is that EBU seems to have allowed the once tested negative to actually take part live... I'd be very surprised if EBU would take any chances?

I agree with your last concern... that's why I was really surprised (even partly outraged) that the EBU even made that offer.

Maybe they would have performed and been isolated in another room afterwards? (that's something I can see happening on Saturday?)

Oh I'm so happy that they put the break between Portugal and Bulgaria, that really ups our chances a lot
I am a bit afraid Bulgaria might be a bit outshined by Finland though, I really hope that won't be the case cause she is still my #1

Portugal will qualify 100% - I think it's one of the very few sure qualifiers in this semi (together with Iceland, Greece, Switzerland and Bulgaria)

All confusing, maybe I jumped the gun too soon calling them out for something... well I don't really say they did it purposely or anything... just that it is a bit of an odd choice to me but yeah they probably had a solid reason for it.

But yeah EBU's decision was a bit odd then, and also tbh I'm surprised not more acts caught this nasty virus considering the carpet thingy and all.

Portugal sounds so good.

Greece, Austria, Serbia, Georgia and Albania delivered vocally as well.

Didn't they all test negative except for one member though? xshrug

I know about the incubation time and I'm all for being responsible, but seems that wasn't the case here and that the ones that tested negative were actually allowed to take part but they opted out.
Well I don't have much else to reply after Mainshow's post
It would be way too dangerous to let them go to the live show after 2 cases in the delegation
Darn our commentators on Swedish television then (including Björkman himself) for claiming it was live via link... they got me fooled then.
That is weird, didn't they mean the live interview with her? o_O

Bulgaria ... for me the most boring song of the year ... *don't bash me*

I mean it's not the most boring, but I agree that it's boring and pretty bland tbh... I don't really get the hype (I think it's a combo of last year's hype somehow lingering and Bulgaria's pretty good track-record as of late).

Agreed, I would add San Marino to the list, especially now with the whole Flo Rida meme. The TV will be probably pretty high

Yeah! And I backtrack a bit from my initial suspicions (I have a sceptical nature)

Nah, if I heard them correctly they said "performing live via link"...

I can totally understand if people don't like Bulgaria or think it's boring but bland? - It's got one of the most beautifully and cleverly written lyrics of this year (the English songs, of course).

I hesitated to put San Marino in here because I didn't see the level of "freakiness" of the performance today :D I just hope it's not tacky or too camp and trashy.
