I’ve tried to write
A million other songs but
Somehow I can’t move on, oh you’re gone

Takes time, alright
And I know it’s no one’s fault but
Somehow I can’t move on, oh you’re gone

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Tem tanto que trago comigo
Foi sempre o meu porto de abrigo
E agora nada faz sentido
Perdi o meu melhor amigo

E se não for demais
Peço por sinais
Resta uma só palavra

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Saudade
Saudade
Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

Nothing more that I can say
Says it in a better way

I’ve tried, alright
But it’s killing me inside
Thought you’d be by my side always

Go girl give us nothing

Another year Portugal serving us a NF full of funeral songs to choose from, and they go for the most funeral one among them.
I really love Portugal as a country but in ESC they're my least favorite by far.

It's ok if you wanna send 9-10 ballads in 12 years, but I'm not really a fan of the particular type of ballads coming from this country.
They feel so complicated and old-fashioned and the melody doesn't stick in your head.
Don't worry I'm not a hater so I'll not post any more in this thread, I'll focus on the entries that I like.
But every year I have my moment of bashing Portuguese entries for once
Please bear with me or

I just noticed that Maro will be opening some of Charlotte Cardin's shows in her upcoming european tour.
If you are curious, Maro will be opening the shows:

05 April - Luxor - Cologne, Germany
07 April - Le Trianon - Paris, France
08 April - Le Splendid - Lille, France
11 April - Botanique - Orangerie - Brussels, Belgium
12 April - Lafayette - London, UK
13 April - Knust - Hamburg, Germany
14 April - Frannz Club - Berlin, Germany
19 April - Le 106 - Rouen, France
20 April - Stereolux Club - Nantes, France
22 April - Transbordeur - Lyon, France

Edit: Maro's deleted the post, so I'm unsure if she will still be performing as opener for Charlotte.

My review:

I really like this, sure it would have been nicer with only Portuguese, but still it's a very atmospheric song, smooth and makes you feel good inside. Listening to this and sipping a drink next to some playa in the mediterranean while the sun is going down, that's the feeling I get from it. It is authentic, unlike most slower tempo songs this year. Will the juries do this one dirty like they do with most authentic entries? I hope not... Good job Portugal! One of your best entries in the past decade!

I don't really like the idea of all these backing singers sitting next to her on stage. Maro has a lot of charming charisma and warmth. She really should stand out more, the focus should be on her. Just do it like with Birds (Anouk, Netherlands) for example. They can be more visible than usual on stage, but push the singer forward, let her shine on her own as well.

I do feel out of all the songs this year that this one is the most difficult to stage... too simple and they run the risk of coming across amateur, a little too overdone and it loses its authenticity.

I do think they'll be doing that, purely because the number of backing singers went up from 4 to 5 and it just wouldn't be beautiful (aka symetrical) to keep the staging with Maro sitting in the middle of the line-up
Plus, Maro did say they are thinking about tweaks to the staging
So I think the backing singers will stand behind her and the spotlight will shine mostly on her

Lol I sincerely thought they were a group and that Maro was the name of the group..
