Yeah if it's between Suzy and Catarina I'm for Suzy, at least it seems fun and beat is catchy, and different, has some African influences and performance can be colorful and nice, while Babic's garbage is as always, nothing.. :? :(

We'll probably find some other artist singing a version of "Mea Culpa" in the coming months, just like "Canta por mim" became Manca Spik's "Zensko srce"

I actually think all the songs are decent :eek: The only one that sounded worse to me was Raquel, but even that one can surprise me with the full version and the good quality tomorrow. I think we have a much better FdC than in the previous years. Still, no winning entry.

There's a whole world of difference between Catarina's song and Suzy's. Between good fun and very very bad one. You might be able to see it tomorrow, I understand today sound and image quality are too poor too draw conclusions. Remember lyrics are important too, and you cannot judge those.
If you can't see it tomorrow, well... I'll be very sorry xshrug

@i-anixi

But I can't understand Portuguese language, so I can only feel vibe of the entry, and what can I feel from C.P.? From that bad choreographed entry, soulless tune, without proper genre, without anything, performer with 0 charisma??? xshrug xshrug xshrug :(

I've got the same impression. Still, we mostly only listened to 1 minute snippets. Ricardo Afonso disapointed me, it sounds poor, like a bad anthem. I thought Suzy's awful, but that of course didn't come as a surprise.

Re: PORTUGAL 2014

As an outsider who barely recognizes some Portuguese words (maybe like some ESC voters), Suzy's song had a more authentic feel to it. To me, it felt local (even though I don't really know what local sounds like for Portuguese people). At least it gives foreign people like me that impression. Catarina's song felt more generic, though I'm starting to warm up to it.

Zana's song is also nice. I like the ethnic feel and it seems very catchy.

BTW the stage looks good with the mix of lights and historical architecture. ;)

I agree totally with the first part of comment..

And yes i'm from a Slavic country so I'm in almost the same position with American guy when it comes to this case (Portugal)

Portuguese ppl constantly bash pimba and to me Portuguese pimba usually just sounds local and not cheap at all, but that is the case with some type of music here in Balkans too, some music that we consider as cheap, foreign ppl think it's just local.. xshrug

I like how Portugal has their NFs in unconventional venues like this and the bull ring (?) in 2010! xcheer

The bull ring made for a very good venue though! Great stage and with a capacity for a lot of people!

In an international contest like this, it's never too bad to take advantage of local flavors that might attract foreign voters
