Our misunderstood Daddy rehearsing in the airport. Seems like he is doing a proper routine. NGL, the dance routine looks pretty good and he sounds good with the back-up vocalist supporting him.

Some are really disappointed with the Polish broadcaster for throwing Alicia under the bus. Some countries gave the opportunity to their 2020 acts to compete again and these acts just didn't win again (The Mamas, Aksel). Some artists didn't want to come back straight away (Tom Leeb, Ben Dolic, Ulrikke, "officially" Little Big). But Denmark and Poland are the two broadcasters who really treated their 2020 artists like shit (+Belarus, but that's yet another slightly different case). Denmark said "your new song is not even good enought to try in our 2021 nf" to Ben&Tan, while as I understand things, the Polish broadcaster just did not communicate with Alicia for months, only to eventually claim "we want to send something uptempo and you do not fit" quite close to the deadline. Some of us find that upsetting.

That, plus of course many of us don't really find The Ride to be all that special. Vocally speaking, it's one of the least demanding songs in the competition. Plus I like me some good 80's vibes, but more along the lines of Raylee's Hero, rather than this.

Apparently, this is the revamp version of "The Ride".

The revamp didn't change much though.
In fact, the second verse sounds more hollow than before.

Personally, I think TVP basically shot themselves in the foot. I believe Rafal's story that he has little time to prepare for this song.
To be honest, you can "hate" Rafal, but at least he tried something different from what he has been doing in the past in terms of his music.

trying something different is something to be praised for, ngl. but i dont necessarily think that the result of this "trying" should end up as our official entry, unless he can pull it off which does not seem to really be the case here...

EBU Statement: Member of Polish Delegation tests positive for COVID-19​

During a routine test upon arrival at the Eurovision Song Contest venue on Saturday 15 May, a member of the Polish delegation tested positive for COVID-19.

They had last been at the venue on Thursday 13 May when the whole delegation were in possession of a negative COVID-19 test.

In accordance with our health and safety protocol this person has now gone into isolation.

As a precautionary measure the other members of their delegation will also now undergo a PCR test and go into quarantine.

As a result of this the Polish delegation will not attend the Turquoise Carpet event in person on Sunday 16 May.

We will have further updates in due course and send our best wishes to the whole delegation."

To be honest, people are going to write him off no matter. Even if he is able to deliver, I am sure he is still going to get hated for what he's doing. It's just easier for people to see him fail than succeed.

I guess Rafal's Eurovision journey is cursed. But hopefully him and the rest of the delegation didn't get infected with the virus.
