Re: POLAND 2012

"Jestem" is my favourite Polish entry to date. I loved it and still do. I know that perhaps she messed it up a bit, but it really wasn't for last place. And I would like to see Magdalena again. :)

^ Agree 100%! Even though I don't charge Magda for the failure.

Official reason: they cannot take part in ESC because they are too busy with EURO 2012 and London's 2012 Olympics.

Re: POLAND 2012

I've always hated TVP for the way they treated Eurovision - complete ignorance, but with this they've crossed the line they didn't want to cross! For God's sake Magda Tul wanted to go, there were other artists interested also, they could make internal choice.
This is just getting rid of the problem, not solving it. They're not gonna broadcast the show, we won't be able to vote (I can't imagine it !!) I just HATE them... and their excuse is just lame and stupid... Euro2012? Ok but so is Ukraine...
Busy with London 2012?! (I didn't know we're hosting it ;P )
I could understand somehow that they are dissapointed with our results - so is the public in Poland or they want to reconsider the strategy (I know it's a joke speaking of Eurovision and TVP in one sentence)....

btw, my name is Eva, I'm from Poland, I'm 24 years old ;)

Re: POLAND 2012

With London - TVP is always involved in production of big sport events, so I can get this point. But still - TVP just wanted to seek for the reason to withdraw in my opinion.

Hi Ewa :)

But you know, ESC is in may and OG in august, so I don't buy it. I'm afraid until there are major changes in TVP entertainment section we're not looking into bright future... I hope it's only a one year long departure... I still can hope for miracle :(

Sad news but not the end of the world. It is their desicion so let's respect it. Good bye Poland and best of luck in the organization of EURO 2012! :)

Re: POLAND 2012

An official and formal statement by the Polish broadcaster is yet to be announced but it pretty much looks like Poland is out. As said, the broadcaster is focusing on the Euro Cup next year so ESC just has to wait a year according to their logic. It is a shame but if Poland indeed ends up withdrawing we hopefully would see them back in 2013

Helloez! We have even bigger expenses =)))

We are on ESC self-funding since our debut ))) Even our NFs are funded by sponsors and performers who participate there, though NTU peeps are in charge of production and they give the venue(s). They even set earlier dates for the NF (and they had Olympic press conference today btw).
imo, TVP is lazy as heck. They were interested in the beginning but now... I'm not sure. And it has nothing to do with the results.
I'm gonna miss your NF :( it's like watching our own NF, I understand everything etc.

This would be a terrible loss if it happens, so I hope they pull a SLOVAKIA. I'm sure they're capable of it, as they are a Central European country.

Actually it seems pretty official now so we may as well get used to the fact....bummer and I feel really bad for our Polish members.
