That is your subjective opinion but you can't order people what should they rank. Someone could value something that you don't value at all

Juries/viewers can vote for whatever they like. There is no objective criteria set there. The jury (or most of them) probably has the song itself as the main judging factor, and that's totally fine. But it surely isn't the only factor playing the role here. It is very clear that this is Eurovision SONG Contest, but it's not just the song that plays an important role in ranking, but the performance and everything around it as well. All those details are important factors for someone who is watching and listening to a certain entry the first time, but even for those who know all the entries like us here
This is broadcasted on TV, and not on a radio, so yes, everything counts. Someone ranks the performances, someone ranks just the song itself, someone ranks the singer's vocal abilities, someone ranks more factors at once (like me)....if it wasn't for that, we wouldn't have live events in the arena with live singing and shows/performances (with music in playback though), but watching the music video would be enough for ranking, and that would be a criteria for everyone watching the event, not live performance. By this criteria of yours, you can just as well say - "this isn't Eurovision VOCAL contest" (which you did say actually) What should be ranked in your opinion? Only the song?Slovakia was my pre-favorite last year, but I didn't vote for her because I totally disliked the performance, and as soon as it got finished I knew she was going to fail. Everything was just terribly bad.
