One Wish Spin Off: Confirmation thread - Cancelled

Rules of this competition:​

a) You send me your request by PM where you should describe the song you wanna hear from another user

b) You describe any quality: genre, style of song, tempo, emotion, language, country etc

c) Your wish should be clear, but not too clear.
That's how your application shouldn't be:
1) I want r'n'b ballad from Moldavian male-singer with mezzo soprano vocal.
2) I want a song that able to win this spin off
3) I need a hit song.

Applications like these ones won't be confirmed.

d) Your application may include song which can be similar to song you want from implementer. (But you should also send a video or mp3 of this song)

e) Songs from Eurovision Song Contest or National Finals aren't allowed

f) Covers and remixes are allowed.

g) After the deadline of confirmation all the applications are mixing and distributing randomly. Every participant will receive by PM the application from other participant (You won't know who)

h) You'll have 5 days for your searching.

i) You send me the fullfillment of application

j) You vote by simple ESC system (but not for both your songs)

k) If someone won't proceed the application, I'll do it myself. I hope we won't have users like this.

Roman, what about the fact that it actually was my idea?

For those who don't know: I suggested this idea on another forum about a year ago, and I've already hosted 2 editions there. (and Roman participated there both times). The rules are just plagiarism (they were just translated from Russian into English, changed and shortened just a little bit). But the person who created them was actually me. And the title is mine as well. (My contest is called "One Wish Song Competition")

And you know what? Roman didn't tell me any single word about this spin-off. I learned about it only today, after I saw it here with my own eyes.

I've put so much effort into this idea and its realization, and Roman just took what had been already created by me. It's just meanly, I must say. :?

I really understand you (and I would probably feel the same if it happened to me), but once someone shares something on the internet, I guess it's not other people's "fault" to copy it. If I were in Roman's place, though, I would definitely mention where I got this idea from.

I really understand you (and I would probably feel the same if it happened to me), but once someone shares something on the internet, I guess it's not other people's "fault" to copy it. If I were in Roman's place, though, I would definitely mention where I got this idea from.

Yeah, I mean what he did is not "illegal", but IMO it's "unethical".

I think I have all the rights to share this idea, because there's no rules which aren't allowed to use ideas of another contests.

Compare contest here and your contest and you'll see some BIG differences:

-less number of rules;
-different conditions of participating;
-rules of spin off are included here;

If you think that it's unethical to copy idea of another contest, look at Forum Song Contest here. I was on another forum, (as some users of this forum) and Forum Song contest there has the same rules, same conditions etc. And both these contests are existing at least 4 years. I'm not sure that there was any claims to organisators.

Besides, I only suggest an idea, it won the poll. My only turn is to host this spin-off, no matter what idea it is. In general, Veronika, are you sure that you was the first who hosted the contest with this idea?

Anyway, I think we should decide what theme of spin off we should have this time, if Veronika against this idea.

Roman, if you have just a little bit of conscience, you won't host this spin-off and just remove it from this forum.

This is MY contest and no one has the rights to use my idea without my permission or at least without any mentioning that the idea is mine. And considering, that you, Roman, used to be my friend, your act is more then just mean. It's disgusting.

I'm not sure what [MENTION=13598]Veronika[/MENTION] is demanding at all, if she only wanted recognition of her original idea, cancelation of it because she holds any kind of copyright for that, or just that you could have informed hernin your daily chats...or all at the same time

If there are no legal inconvinients, I don't see the point to cancel the spin-off, it won the poll as many other times a suggestion "copied" from another forum or users have won before

I don't have enough free time to visit all the threads and to read all the discussions. As I've already said, I learned about it only today, just accidentally saw the title here. Roman told me nothing about this spin-off and about "his" suggestion (which is actually mine). If he wants to host something, he's to create the idea himself and not to steal someone else's ready-made contests. Maybe someone would ignore it, but I will never leave it without attention and will fight for my contest. :?

With this premise, ESC should claim all our contests because everything is inspired by the ideas of Marcel Bezençon, the creator of Eurovision Song Contest. As Fotiana said, in this case it is not illegal, but not so ethical. Copyright is usually issued on content, not on ideas.

Roman used to be my friend and I'm really offended by the fact that he did it behind my back, I didn't expect such a thing from him.

My mood is damaged and now I don't want to work on the contest alongside with the person who acted that way.

It would be fair not to host this spin-off at all. When I have a bit more free time, I'll probably suggest the theme myself anew.

With this premise, ESC should claim all our contests because everything is inspired by the ideas of Marcel Bezençon, the creator of Eurovision Song Contest. As Fotiana said, in this case it is not illegal, but not so ethical. Copyright is usually issued on content, not on ideas.

ESC is a global thing, it's not the same case. And one more thing: this spin-off is not inspired by my contest, it's clear plagiarism.

In my own opinion, [MENTION=13598]Veronika[/MENTION] you behave a little bit childish making a drama here. Yeah, maybe Roma stole your idea and what of it? As long as people like it I don't see any reason to stop this spin off, and you don't have rights on this contest like EBU on Eurovision One Wish doesn't have any copyrights so it means that everyone can use this idea. Plus, I saw a great number of contests called Worldvision and what? Noone complained with mods, with admins of forum why on Earth they have created the contest with the same name, structure and etc. And read the history of suggestions thread I think there would be a post with quite the same idea.
And for the last, I think you should discuss this problem with Roma in pm, not here because it doesn't look nice.

It's my contest, I've put a lot of effort into it, it took months for me to work on the contest and to make it good and interesting, and to make people love it. And now someone hosts my contest without telling me anything. I can't put up with it.

it is not your contest. Here it is Roma's contest. If it was on Euroforum then yes, but here it is another story. And my advice to you to accept that it will be hosted here and to come with Roma to agreement.
