Why don't you just f*ck off if you can't live with not qualifying for the final in a song contest on the internet? Seriously.

Calm down Zech, no need to take THAT much offence :p It's pretty normal for spirits to run high for people straight after results, but I'm sure they'll calm down xD

goktengri, I've loved both Nukuland NSC entries so far, but just remember that it's not necessarily easy, or expected for everyone to qualify :D When you don't qualify, just remember that even if you didn't come top 10, there are still certain people who loved your song, and even better, it may have been thanks to you that they just discovered a song they love :D Thank you for sharing your music so far, and I hope we'll continue to see great music from Nukuland, with hopefully a qualification in the not-too-far-off future :p

I'll probably never make an NF, for some reasons:
- Each NF means losing several possibilities. All songs that already lost are lost forever (sending a loser would be weird) and I just wouldn't like that feeling of waste.
- I don't discover several songs I love each month, so making an NF would limit my choice in future. Soon I would be left without an idea what to send and sending mediocrity doesn't appeal to me.
- And finally, I send what I like, not what others do. Sending a song that wasn't chosen just by me would make me feel this entry is not fully mine.

btw. has anyone any clue what goktengri meant when saying about diaspora in NSC? it's the most ridiculous thing I heard today :p

Shame that no debuting countries qualified anyway, especially, especially, ESPECIALLY Roseland, I loved that song, it was a great discovery!

Well, having an NF is not necessarily a bad idea. When I choose to have a National Final, I choose songs that I like a lot or love a lot! My idea is to introduce new/familiar/less familiar artists with songs that I prefer. For me it is same which one would represent me. ;)

Sorry. :p

I just can't stand attitudes like that.

Especially since this was only his/her 2nd contest, I think. It can only get worse..

I agree. I didn't qualify for my first 2 contests, and then I was surprised to finish 2nd in my 3rd contest. He just needs to keep trying and he'll get a good result eventually too!

In your head
To be honest my nfs also often feature several songs which are there to show and which i wont send to nsc even if they win by a huge margin. They are good and some people will really like them, but if they win i will manipulate the results enough to get what i wanted to get ;)

NFs are potentially my favourite part of NSC! I love voting in other people's NFs because i get to discover way more songs than i would otherwise, a lot of which are better than the ones that are actually sent :D I also love hosting my own NFs, because it's a chance to host your own little show and to share more of your music with people in a single edition :D

It's also a good way to help you to decide which song to send if you're an indecisive type of person. I had hardly any ideas for songs to send when i first joined NSC, but i have accumulated loads over the years, so i can easily afford to host NFs. There's no way i would ever be able to show everyone all the songs i want to send otherwise, even if we got to the 500th edition xD

NFs usually get 10-20 voters, and since each edition of NSC has 50-60 participants usually, this doesn't really make too much difference to what place you get in my opinion :p

On another note, congratulations to all qualifiers! I didn't hold out too much hope for Halito, but i never assumed i wouldn't qualify since i love the song and there's no reason for others not to :D We'll send something more mainstream next edition (not too much so though hehe), so watch out for our NF ;)

Thanks to everyone who voted for Belvist, and congratulations to everyone else who qualified :D To those who didn't (including Nukuland) better luck next time.

Yeah, there's a rule that songs used in a national final are never allowed to be used again? Or is it different?

Good god no  Any song used in a NF that fails can be taken by anyone else :)

Wow, am I like the only one who doesn't like national finals? It's like you're relying on others to pick your song for you, that's what it seems like to me...I see someone with a few songs just asking for peoples' opinions, but VOTING? Come on, it's about discoveries, not doing good! Now I'd make one, but I just don't like the idea...
I'm with you 100% on this. I'm in this to show off my favorite type of music, not to win, and I find it sad that some people seem more interested in winning than send music they actually love. I read a comment once that said something like "when I get to host I can finally send one of my favorites". It's just wrong IMO. And for that reason, Balearica Island will NEVER have a NF.

On a very different note, I seriously dislike the forum switch. Nothing is working like I want it to. :(
