I'm a simple guy (who likes to make my life less simple at times, as I should have been in bed by now). I see a new way to present some statistics about my entries, and I jump straight on it. :D So this is thanks to @Rmetr0 in the NSC Chat Box (and I've stolen his design), a comparison of semi vs final results for my entries that competed in both. I have no idea how he calculated his delta numbers tho, that seemed a bit too advanced for me, so I've done it in a different way, which I still think works pretty well.

S3RL and Lexi unsurprisingly the biggest grower, Amaranthe the biggest fader. A lot more faders than growers. And Giorgio Moroder and Britney Spears got the most similar results, being my only entry to win in both semi and final (and the semi was also as big as they get), but I'd say Da Tweekaz and Oesch's Die Dritten also came really close.

Eh, I knew I should've posted it here, but also thought maybe it would be more suitable in the discussion related to it, so now it's messed up
But I'll just quote mine here and call it a day :)

This discussion inspired me to look through all my entries and calculate the drop/growth between semi-finals and finals, here :)

P.S. Maybe the system is not perfect, but much better than just subtracting places which I initially tried and got so disappointed in myself :mrgreen::mrgreen:

P.P.S. I literally did Latvia 2005 with Will Jay, even performed second to last in the final running order!

P.P.P.S. LOL at Joost being the biggest drop according to this system xLO

And yeah, I also did mine when I should've been in bed already, much relatable

My system was not actually too advanced, I just assigned 0% to 1st place in semi, 10% to 2nd place in semi and so on until 11th place in semi with 100%. I counted all REJU qualifiers as "11th" place since the growth even in case of 28th place in the final didn't look fair. Then I did the same with final, assigning 0% to 100% from 1st to 28th places with step of 100/27 ≈ 3.70, and then just subtracted percent in final from percent in semi ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yours looks interesting, you counted percents in semis and final relative to overall amount of participants there perhaps?

Aha, I see. I think reju qualifiers have a great potential of improving the result tho. Imagine if "Vroom" went from 26th in the semi to PQing, that would have been an epic climb, and I wanted to give them the opportunity. And 2 of my 3 biggest growers are reju qualifiers. :) Also, some finals have had 29 (or even 30) entries, that changes the score slightly.

Yeah, to use "Redlight" as an example:
Semi result 21st of 26 = 80,77% score
Final result 16th of 28 = 57,14% score
Semi score minus final score = 80,77 - 57,14 = +23,62

And to use an example from the faders, "Ayla Part II":
Semi result 18th of 25 = 72%
Final result 26th of 28 = 92,86%
End result = 72 - 92,86 = -20,86

I see, yeah, it totally makes sense when you count semi places relative to all participants there, not just 1st to 10th + REJU like i did :) Maybe next time I'll try to count your way :)

*like David, counting bilingual entries as 1 each because I'm not working out a fraction, but I'll pop an asterisk where those apply anyway (and I'm not counting when English has a minor feature)

List of number of times different languages been sent from Adamsburg (NSC 232 included)

English 92*
Swedish 17
Finnish 9
Japanese 3*
French 2
Bosnian 1
Chinese 1*
Danish 1
German 1
Ibibio 1*
Sami 1
Spanish 1

Instrumental 4* (Included even them who are saying a word or two just in this)

Never thought that me, who usually have problems with fully instrumental songs in NSC, would have Instrumentals as the 4th most common "language" sent...but I guess people change and adapt over time. xgiggle

Well for being one that almost never (at least in the past) got the interest to vote for instrumental entries in NSC, it is more than I ever thought I would send (I thought actually I would never send one so... xD)

that should be it, it was really inconvenient to do that from my phone since all the tabs kept refreshing and i had to refresh forum tab again in order to get latest changes in my message and to filter again and again in database tab, so i hope there are no mistakes, but they could be present 🙈

i might've forgotten some minor lyrics (lines, words), but the only entry that consisted of two languages (English, French) is SICKOTOY & Misha Miller – Touché

Interesting analysis... I hadn't realized yet how many invented languages and instrumental songs I have sent in the past. Most original one of the list probably still is Old Occitan, from NSC 181 'Danza ex machina' (Luc Arbogast)!

If I count Orovoda's entries from NSC 26 to 44, I should add:

Cantonese (1 entry)
Gaulish (1)
Hebrew (1)
Innu-aimun (1)
Japanese (1)
Ukrainian (2)

Hello hello :)
The qualification percentage ranking is back once again!

- let's welcome the newcomers of our chart: Marcobia, Grand Duchy of Strenci, Rehi Kaita and Necluda, who debuted not so long ago, and also Federal Republic of Meridia, the returnee!
- our recent debutant Bála Kunmenai is also mentioned here, but not included in the chart, because it has yet to reach the required three participations.

NSC 232 update
uCJce5w.png

1) PQ = qualification
2) if the percentage is equal, the preference is given to nations with more participations
3) new nations are going to be included only after three participations
4) green background means that the nation qualified (or PQ) in the most recent edition
5) red background means that the nation failed to qualify in the most recent edition
6) differences between previous positions and the current ones are indicated as well

I tried to be as accurate as possible, but if you notice any inaccuracies, please let me know and I'll fix them!
