^No worries. All current countries are going to be placed on map.

So I started working on map and here is the small sneak peak:

It's northern part of west continent which is currently dubbed ''Continent of Big Friendly Woman With Fruit Basket On Her Head'', 'cause it kinda looks like that... at least to me.

This is just outline of the continent and as you can see Scorpionia's islands now form a whirl and one of the islands is shaped as letter ''S''

And yes, whole map is being re-drawn from the scratch.

UPDATES, CHANGES AND NEW ELEMENTS:

MINOR:

- Colors of countries are going to be changed and made fitting to one another
- Color of sea/oceans/lakes is going to be lighter
- Continents are gonna be given more ''real world'' look
- Same applies for country shapes
- Few small islands are added to some contries

MAJOR:

- Shape of some islands is going to be completely changed
- Location of some islands is going to be completely changed
- Sizes of continents may also change

NEW:

- Names of capitals are gonna be added
- Names of seas, oceans and lakes are gonna be added
- Some points of interest are going to be named (Mountain tops, island chains, southernmost, easternmost, etc. points, bays and so on)
- All elements together are going to be under current project dubbed ''NSC Universe''

NSC UNIVERSE:

-NSC Universe is project currently under construction that is going to explore second aspect of Nation Song Contest; Nations, points of interest, relations and history of NSC WORLD

So yeah, with a lot of time on my hands *no life* I decided to explore that second aspect of this contest. Boring to many I shall guess, but still worth exploring.
Map is going to be presented as scheduled; next week, while whole project is going to be compleated somewhere mid-next month.

For mainland countries already on old map: You may send me a private message if you wish to add something to your country (like islands or something, IDK).

For island countries already on map: You may send me a private message if you wish to add something to your country, your country's location changed or your country's shape changed (which is likely to happen anyway)

For countries not on old map: You may send me a private message if you wish specific location or shape, mainland or island.

I know this post is incredibly messy, huge, words in it misspelled, grammar a disaster, but I promise everything is going to be made better when I open a new thread about all this. (Which is gonna be when new map is posted)

And now that we're putting extra names on, that reminds me that we do have some unofficial names that have been floating about for a while now

These are:
Name of NSC Planet: Natia (as in Natian Song Contest)
Name of Northern Continent: Norigin
Name of Eastern Continent: Chiara
Names of lakes: Miembro, Fantasma
+ I seem to remember something about RLD having a big lake, but it's not on the wiki xD

So yeah, that's just the stuff I remember, and it is all 100% unofficial (a lot of it just came about from MSN conversations) but it would be nice to come up with more official names for our continents/seas/oceans imo

Hehehehe thanks for the comments of encouragement! Those are all much appreciated. I'll give my best to try and realize this project as soon as possible, so I can enjoy that bit of social life I have. Only thing that's really getting into my way is that I have to do 84hours of ''working experience'' in order to complete my final year at school. I'm starting next Wednesday, so that means I'll be quite busy in middle of next week and following two weeks after it.

Sounds good, but a bit more originality should be put into it. It needs discussion. I suggest asking people around and then making a poll.

I really like this one. It points out location of continent and ''origin'' part sorta makes it seem like dominant and oldest of continents which could very well work out in background story.

Name of Eastern Continent: Chiara

Probably not. Not sure what relation that name has to it, but we need something like ''Norigin''.

Names of lakes: Miembro, Fantasma

Well first two sound quite good, although I was gonna name them Lake Verity, Acuity and Valor. Those names are kinda stolen anyway so we should stick with those two you have.

Haha, well, I think we discussed this briefly with Luke and Renzo, and we thought it could fit, because of the Maltese background of the nations there, as well as the fact that Chiara really can be continent sized xD Associations aside, I also think Chiara's a nice continent name anyway ^^ But yeah, more opinions! Sure. I agree that planet name should have connection with name ''Nation Song Contest''. I'll make sure that poll is organized at the right time.

Oh, I didn't notice reference to Maltese singer Chiara. I just thought it was random name. Sure a bit of humor could work out well. I just think it might be a bit to offensive.

Hahahaha yeah thought so. Well my fanboyness took over and I wanted to abuse control over the map a bit to make tribute to franchise that I admire more than anything. But yeah, better stick with new and original names.

I should take this as an opportunity to finally update my Wiki page, the information in it is atrociously out of date

I gotta say, this map looks set to be an amazing piece of work The detail in that little example is spectacular, and you've managed to keep to the original shape pretty well too, which is good because it wouldn't feel right for it to change in shape too much
All of the little extras sound great, and i'm sure with plenty of thought you can come up with some good names (although Verity, Acuity and Valor are all very good names, i also know where you got those ideas from ^^). Norigin was always my favourite continent name, so i'm glad you're sticking with that

Btw, i actually think your post is structured very clearly with only the odd spelling or grammatical mistake This is really going to be a massive improvement to the NSC community

I did some updating too on my Wiki page, adding names to the regions on the island (Defqonia and Mellonia-Salinas).

Yes, yes that would great! It would be really helpful if everyone was to update their wiki pages. Some still have to make them first though.

Woah! Hahaha, thanks! I know continents might be a bit distorted because I couldn't exactly keep the original shape. But I think some changes are good.

All of the little extras sound great, and i'm sure with plenty of thought you can come up with some good names (although Verity, Acuity and Valor are all very good names, i also know where you got those ideas from ^^). Norigin was always my favourite continent name, so i'm glad you're sticking with that

Yeah, stealing names from multi-million selling game isn't the best move. I shall do some brainstorming about names.

Well I'm glad I can contribute. Although I don't think many will be interested.
Yeah I was writing whole post on computer which doesn't automatically underline the word which is misspelled so there are plenty of mistakes.

I don't remember discussing Chiara being the name of the Eastern Continent, but yeah i's an awesome name

As long as I get to keep Bazdmeg-iFrickin-C'moon-al-Hamililandia and Låpøtré finally gets recognised as the northern-most island ( :evil: ) then I'm happy

And I think it'd be best to name the lakes Miembro and Fantasma seeing as how without him there'd be no contest

Map's being finished faster than expected so you may even get it this weekend.

Here's yet another sneak peak:

It's a close up, so it doesn't look very good. I promise full version in right size is better. Changes on northernmost part were inspired by Norway.

Only problem is getting names of all capitals. There is a list on wiki page:

However, as you can see some are missing. I'll need to send private message to countries that do not have capital name written there and since most of them are not on old map I also need to ask them for their wished location.

Further more; we need names for oceans (4 in total), third and fourth lake, west and eastern mini continent. So please, give me suggestions here in thread or via private message.

We also need names for bays and points of interest, but there are so many of them it would be a mess if everyone started suggesting, so I'll ask owners of countries that certain locations belong to.

I hope to get map up by Sunday evening. It depends on how fast people reply.

Yeah, altho I didn't specify that they are names of the regions:

And despite the chosen song not doing too good in NSC, the relationship between Defqonia and Mellonia-Salinas (the "postcard" side of the island) has improved, and previous conflicts seems to have been buried.

Anyway, now you know. I don't know if you're gonna write that on the map tho, but if you do, Mellonia-Salinas is slightly bigger than Defqonia.

Oh, and about the capitals list, mine was wrong. Niavara is the biggest city, but the capital is San Antonio (I've fixed it now tho).

Okay, thanks for clarifying. I don't think I'll be putting separate regions of each country on map, but your country's story sounds interesting enough to play role in background story of NSC World that I'll be working on.
