Thanks to all who voted for me! Finally in the Final after a break of two editions!

You can't blame others for having taste different to yours. We're all voting regardless of song's popularity and thus can't give "trashy world hits" unfair disadvantage just for the sake of so-called originality. Mind that a good song doesn't automatically turn trashy with the moment of reaching 1mln views on YouTube. I dislike the underground syndrom.
Accusing NSC of unoriginality is wrong, anyway. I find the contest varied and you can hardly find anything that would be alternative here.

And now due to some comments, essay time! =D (haven't done this in some time)

Just because you send something ''original'' and ''different'' doesn't mean it is good. In both sense of quality or just how good it sounds. Some people force to send songs that different, but in all honesty, they just sound rubbish and not only that, they also tend to be composed so badly that it hurts in places I did not even I know I had.
I do enjoy trashy pop music and huge hits, just because they are fun and don't hurt my ears with their experimental instruments and compositions.
Besides you are on EUROVISION forum, meaning most people will have affinity for popular music. It is, after all, music made to fit large masses of people. Just because you don't fit, doesn't mean you are enlightened about universe and meaning of life. I'm sick of ''cool'' people going around saying they listen to good music, nobody knows about because they have awful music taste.
I know this extremely sharp and rude post, but I can't put on a smile and tolerate this kind of behavior. It is music and there many kinds of it. Just as you might wonder how can someone like that song, they wonder how can you like yours. You can't understand why someone loves a particular song, because you can't hear it as they do, no matter how hard you try.

In my conclusion:

I might have missed the point or went too far, perhaps even contradicted myself (it's almost 00:00 and I'm writing in foreign language), but at least I addressed what bugs me.

Pity for Balearica and Yaponesia. They were my top pointers and also sad about Orangualia. They had their best entry, at least I think so.

I know you all mean well, and what you're saying is correct.

But there's no need to jump on the poor people who feel a bit down after not qualifying! Besides, there's a little truth in both sides of the argument, but ultimately, the best thing is to do the best you can next edition!

But you definitely don't deserve to get shouted at by everyone for feeling disappointed, I mean, I'm sure all of us have felt disappointed after a nonqual, and the feeling passes quickly So just let people express themselves as they wish, without everyone needing to gang up ^^ Peace and love


(but I still agree with some of Kreso's fundamental points, and besides, it used to be a lot worse people xD I'd say there's a lot of opportunities for unknown songs in NSC compared to other contests I've seen out there )
