I am sorry to interrupt, but what is actually "the best" song? It is a very subjective perception. The song that appeals to the most people wins in the end. It always was like that, and always will be. My favorite also rarely wins, but my favorite doesn't necessarily need to be the best song. The "best" song should be the one that appeals to most people, and thus should win.

Yeah Ametan, I totally agree with the above. Last edition, my favorite song (zechonia) didn't even make it past the semis, plus This will be my fifth edition and I myself have not even made the finals and I'm not complaining, so don't quit!

Oh grow the fuck up... I am more than happy with the winner and if you are too bitter and jealous than to actually congratulate him then that's your problem. I guess you're right though, ONLY 29 people voted Calypso to win, and they only got more than half of the scoreboard to vote for them... I respect your opinion that the song isn't great but COME ON! I think you DO need to take some time out and come back when you have a better attitude which will actually make people respect your opinion rather than just blatantly bitching about the winner. You should be grateful Renzo is letting you enter the contest - considering you think his win/hosting is so undeserved, I'm surprised you're even entering at all, it's so sad when people don't even support their own opinions, especially when they have no one else to back them up. Good luck to you in future, I hope you reconsider and do decide to stay, but only once you start respecting other NSCers instead of hiding behind your computer screen like a coward while you slag everyone off.

Liam you can never reason with person if you keep yelling at him and throwing insults.

It is very unpleasant to hear Ametan leaving. Your country had character which could be seen in songs you sent. But you know, this isn't a contest where we objectively judge songs. If we did results would be upside-down. Here people do not vote for songs based on their quality, but rather on how they like them.

I hope you return one day!

Liam, shut up You have all completely misunderstood him, in fact. He is not withdrawing because his favourites didn't do well. He is withdrawing because he doesn't like the reju rewards system and thinks it makes the contest unfair.

I hate to see Ametan leaving just because of this rule, imo it has very little impact (if any) on the winner, and doesn't even have much impact on the qualifiers. But it's your decision. You will be missed

yeah seriously... i'm quitting because of the reju votes not because my fav song didn't win..... seriously...
the reju votes create a possibility for different qualifiers which would change the whole system's layout in a way that it is no longer the actual song contest it was...

btw liam.. if you think other people's mentalities are childish... just read your comments and think about how you abruptly assaulted me with arguments that after all didn't even have the slightest solid base behind them. you just took the opportunity to try to make other people seem lower where there was the chance.

I don't really see why giving people extra votes in the rest jury is a problem. It's just an extra 11th qualifier, and I think it's very unlikely that this 11th qualifier is going to win the final anyway, so I really don't see how that has anything to do with who wins. We're talking about 2 entries in a 28 entry final here, it's not like it's the majority of the songs... :roll:

In the end, the most popular song wins, it's probably never gonna be an entry from Balearica Island, but I'm not in this to win, I'm in it to let people get a taste of something different, and if people like it, then that's a nice bonus. But quitting because 2 of 22 songs get into the final in a different way? Nah.

Thanks for the compliment! I always new my songs were of amazing quality. The re-ju reason is even more ridiculous if you ask me.

Don't cause an NSC meltdown over nothing :shock: Maybe some of you should realise that he's made his decision to withdraw and eventually he has the final say on the matter so what's the point in arguing against his opinion and making him feel worse about NSC? That's not gonna make anybody willing to stay.

I'm getting soooo tired of people trying to create drama just for the sake of it. Can we please just have a contest where we get along without fights over nothing? Let's leave it as it is and focus on what's important.
