Posts from the time, as well as earlier discussions from the past indicate that many members support the WL tie-break system which would have Zoidiac as 7th (including, for example, the top 10 leaderboard in the NSC statistics). If there's any significant opposition to that then it would be something to sort out by poll.

Personally, I would put Zoidiac there, as it would be the result of a statistically fairer tie-break. Any agreement/disagreement? Perhaps Matt and Michel could reach an agreement? Or ultimately, this decision could be up to you, Bojan, as you're the one who needs to organise the show

Yes, the controversy was how the tie in the WLvoting was broken (Alinta and Fervorosia (and Yaponesia)).
In this case, it had to be done completely randomly, as the WL-Collector didn't know how to break such a tie.
But, discussion in the past had agreed on two possible solutions to this:
1. The WLCollector's preference gets the higher vote
2. The results of the contest BEFORE the WLvotes are added determines the order of tie-breaking.

2 is statistically fairer imo, but more complicated.
In this case though, it seems that neither was used, due to lack of instruction on how to break such a tie, I guess.

In any case, it would probably be best for you to start the show tonight As you said, you're very busy. It would perhaps be helpful if other online members would voice their opinion on which should be the solution?

Well, I personally don't care if i'm prequalified or not but in a situation like this were no rules were clearly set in stone at this point I think it would be 'unfair' to pick between the two countries by just picking a tentative rule. Maybe it would be just fair to let them both qualify and increase it to 29? It's the 50th anniversary afterall.
And going forward a solution for this problem should be discussed and implement as quickly as possible.

Why not let them both pq? There's no losers in this situation, both parties leave content and no harm is done .
