Heartwarming was the thought behind Ugaly's entry, and heartwarming was the received support! As is customary with Ugly prequalifier traditions, it's all about taking the rare chance to present the final with something contextually unique. Everything else is just numbers, but the numbers that do show up have love behind them, and it's certainly not in our national traditions to leave love unappreciated. 38 points on six voters, that's quite a lot of love given per person!

Zoidiac, uplifting support that's well appreciated, thank you!

Reym-L-Dneurb, glad to see that the initial excitement from many months ago remained to this end, many thanks!

With that, Ugaly takes a bow and thanks all of NSC for an excellent edition, the best in quite a while!

As the contest turns gold aged next edition, Ugaly will do their part with a little celebration on their own, this time by looking back...

OMG!! Join 1st on reju!!! Thanks so much Reju!! Also, I'm verrry happy for 22nd as I didn't expect to even qualify, thank you so much to everyone who voted for Kostanovia, I got a LOT of high points which shows the song was great for some but didn't appeal to most. But that's ok, since I love the song myself!! Finallly... a big HUGE congrats to Bokia - my favourite entry in NSC 49 and the best winner in a long time by FAR!! Also, congrats to TAA and Calypso and your top 3 places :D :D Definitely deserved :D

actually, I should have received 3 from WL, not 2, and Alinta 2, not 3, because we all (+ Yaponesia) finished with one set of 12 points in the WL, and ties should be broken by the actual results. :?

Well well well; missed the results cos I was away this weekend, but caught up now :D

First of all, CONGRAAAAAAAAATULATIONS BOKIA :!:
Victory #3 and earning the honour to host the anniversary 50th edition is a great achievement for one of our longest-running nations xclap xclap xclap
Also, as mentioned earlier, deserved vengeance for Cheryl's shock nonqual in NSC 43 :p (though imo Parachute is infinitely better anyway; it's a great song  )

Nowwwww secondly...
THAAAAAAAANK YOOOOU!!!! xbow xbow xbow xhug
9th place is sooo amazing; haven't had such a success for years :D
In fact, Yaponesia's last top 10 placing was back in NSC 29 :p (also 9th xD)
So many thanks everyone for voting and supporting our Vietnamese entry :D : Saksjaowie, Arjastan, Mooseland, 10 Regions, Effiland, Calypso, Zaprya, Reignland, Adamsburg, Alinta, Noizeland, Bokia,
and especialllyyyy BLONDANIA, UGALY and DISQUALIFIED
xgoddess
xthank xthank xthank xthank xthank xthank

Really looking forward to NSC 50; NSC 49's been a really lovely edition :D
Of course, thanks go to Milos, Eren and Juki for their respective shows and results! THANK YOU for your efforts! :D

Hmm yeah, this is probably quite important. Especially if, for example, one of the top 6 doesn't confirm, we'll have a debatable choice between whether Alinta or Zoidiac goes though xthink (if the tie goes as Pyry says, then Alinta will have 93 points and be 8th).
First of all though, we should find out if Barish had any thought on which way the ties broke, and then we can discuss which would be the best way to break it (for now, and in future) :p It was something we discussed before, but never with any real detail or urgency at the time xthink

I know nothing about the-tie-breaking-thing. So to have the right decision, i loaded the votes to ScoreWiz. And ScoreWiz gave me the top 10 as you see above. It might not be a healthy way to collect the votes, but, I thought "ScoreWiz knows the best!" Hope it's good. If it isn't, that shows that I'm not a person who is able to collect votes and be a host. :)

I broke the ties already on the full scoreboard (I asked Sean for the ties yesterday). ;)

Yep, that's no problem :p It's not easy to see what the fairest solution is, and actually doing it completely randomly (like Scorewiz) is not a bad solution  So you haven't done anything wrong :D

Another solution discussed would be to let the WLcollector choose their favourite to get the higher point.

However, what pyryniemi suggests, which I've agreed with in the past, is that the fairest way to break absolute ties in WLvotes is to use the results of the edition itself up to the WLvotes being added. This way, a placing won't be changed by pure chance or a third party's personal favourite, but by the results themselves, which is arguably fairer. So basically, the WLcollector would leave the absolute tie as it is and the edition-host would be able to break it using the results.

However, I'm not sure if that was ever agreed upon or decided as part of the rules :p So it's worth seeing what people think of that now anyway. :D

I agree with pyryniemi personally. The WL-collector choosing their favourite seems rather corrupt

Omg, so many sets of high points  Just not enough of them  Thank you soooo much too

Calypso for 2
Ecclestonia for 6   (Although less of a surprise now that i've seen Ecclestonia's NF this edition :p )
Lukeland and Qele for 7
Zoidiac and Noizeland for 8   (I didn't expect such high points from Noizeland, even though i know Halitosian entries are generally appreciated there  )
And finally, thank you Yaponesia for 12    :D :D  (My first 12 from Yaponesia i think, and though i knew it was liked by the Yaponesian population, i'm overjoyed to see that it was liked as much as this :D )

Surprising as it may be, i don't usually get a pot 3 backing, but it's nice when it happens :p It didn't make a difference unfortunately, but thank you everyone!
